Has Amazon had a policy change?

Has Amazon had a policy change?
Thanks. All of my recent purchases have been Amazon themselves, so maybe they instantly enter the shipping phase?
Talk to Amazon support 😉
Has Amazon had a policy change?
Nope, still being charged when picked aka about to be shipped.
Basically once the order is placed in the picking queue at the warehouse they charge you to make sure you're good for it. So I got charged today from some items, and they will be delivered in a day or two.
Personally I prefer the instant charge. I have Amazon credit. So during the week I used to keep a list of things to buy and when I have time I find the best price and order.
When I ordered multiple things on Amazon I looked at the balance and thought I had enough so bought other stuff that wasn’t urgent right now but the price was good. I didn’t always realise I wasn’t charged for previous purchases yet as they didn’t ship so my balance would suddenly drop and it they would charge my credit card.
So I ended up spending more then I would have had they charged me instantly instead.
They can just refund you if the item doesn’t or is out of stock. That way you get more money in your account
I’m sure what happened was similar to other customers only when Amazon went to charge there was no money left in their cards so Amazon lose the sale
Yeah it makes it hard to keep track of your fun money account when an item could take a week to charge your card because it wasn't available right away to ship.
My recent order (sold by Amazon) wouldn't ship for a few days, charge happened after a day or 2. I've been charged immediately in the past, but only when it was close to the cut off time for next day delivery.
Yeah. I bought the Derwents from the other deal and I was charged immediately. I just tracked the item and it has yet to ship. Seems like they've definitely made a change.
This is what google AI said.. Amazon will not charge your credit card for items sold by Amazon until the item enters the shipping process. However, if you order from a third-party seller, Amazon may charge your card when you place the order
