bought one couple month ago, use for construction, factory background. few things:
    con
1, Battery life isn't great, at 75% volume, it lasts around 4 hours. so full blast, which one a job site, it is just loud enough for personal usage, may only last you 3 hours.
2, there is no way to tell battery life until its like 20%, especially when you turn it on, it doesn't report you the battery level like my Sony's does.
3, charging speed isnt great either, no fast charge on this one what so ever, (i am not too sure about this so do correct me if anyone know better).
    pro
1, build like a tank, buttons are easy accessible and not too easy to trigger.
2, rubberized feet, and unit itself as a whole also makes it handy to position itself anywhere.
    3, water proof, fully.
4, sound is great, bass is decent, definitely top class in its size. you can put it in the back of your car and almost have a decent speaker feeling. i am sure doing stereo pairing would be awesome (i do that all the time with 2 of my sonys)

TLDR, shit battery for heavy user, amazing sound and build.

And ofc, i modded mine. factory only has 700mah battery in it, i replaced it with a 2000mah battery, it will 100% ruin the warranty if anyone is interested. now it easily last full day 8 hours job on max volume on a job site. If you using it in door, normal house party, you absolution do not need 100% volume, in a normal living room, 75% is loud enough, you can easily get away with 50% volume, if everyone is like chilling on the beach within 5 meters kinda scenario.

    • How does changing the battery effect the water resistance, do you know?

      • tbh i didnt test, but had i went for a little smaller battery , i am sure i can do a better job trimming the internal frame, and keep the seal good, but it all depends how good your DIY skill is and how big of battery you put into, there really isnt much space. but yes you can definitely just replace the battery and have all the seals intact. for me as water isnt my concern, i just yolo it and still works fine, your millage may vary 0.o

    • Thanks for the review. Any tips on how to change the battery?

      • https://imgur.com/a/L2RqxS1 -.- not a tutorial, but it shouldnt be too hard to anyone thats used to DIY stuff.
if looks too intimidating, well it is probably not for you xD

UPGRADE YOUR JBL GO 4 BATTERY FOR LASTING POWER !

Teardown is very simple and battery swap from a higher capacity model is plug and play

        • 1400mah, good upgrade consider it just drop in replacement. i think i might be able to fit bigger ones (bigger than 2000mah) if i do more research, but i happen to have what i had on hand so went with it, too lazy to wait xD.

    • My battery level shows in the Bluetooth connected device page on my phone.

      • yes the app does ofc it better does……, but often takes a good while to show up in app, let alone i have to take out my phone first. i do all the music control on watch now.

    • Any reason why you couldn't have it plugged into a battery bank instead?

      • +3

you surely could. but dragging around extra weight, cable etc, and worrying about the USB-C port getting yanked on a job site is definitely a no no for me.

    • Where did you buy your batteries from? Aliexpress or is there a local manufacturer? Wicked upgrade.
