Chiq 8.5kg 5 Yr Warranty Vs LG 8kg Series 5 2/4 Yr Warrenty

I had my washer break down that is 11 years old.
I'm struggling to decide between the following via my works discounts. My main issue with the Chiq is its kinda ugly.

Chiq 8.5kg washer. $396 + 59 standard delivery
https://www.chiq.com.au/en/products/details/292.html
The good Guys commercial
- 4 suspension things vs the LGs 2
- slightly higher capacity
- promotional 5 year parts and labour warranty

LG Series 5 8KG 475.40 free shipping and instellation. About $20 more in total than Chiq.
https://www.lg.com/au/washer-dryers/front-load-washing-machiā€¦
- looks more premium and modern, the CHIQ looks a bit cheap and ugly imo
- only a 2 year warranty, maybe 4 years of LGs promotional warranty applies to their VIP store.

Any recommendations at this low budget which is better.

  • Is this even a question to ask, no brainer, LG comes with 2 years parts and labour on the product and additional 8 years on Inverter Direct Drive Motor (parts only)
Plus connected to wifi ……. !

    • And the chiq has 5 years parts and labour.
LG don't expect the motor to just fail so 2 year warranty is meh.

Also on further reading the chiq doesn't have a mixed wash cycle which is not great. But the lg only supports 8kg on very few cycles so not true 8kg

      • LG don't expect the motor to just fail so 2 year warranty is meh.

I wouldn't expect that to happen on any brands these days, but it is just added insurance. Things you need to worry about, who is dealing with the warranty support for the 'Chiq' brand I just heard about lol

But at the end of the day, its your call.

ChiQ (Changhong) has been around for 60+ years, not sure about their washing machines but their TVs and Fridges are great for the price.

I've had one ChiQ fridge stop working after 6 years, called their 1300 number and they had a tech on-site the next day to repair it under warranty.

          see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changhong

  • go on OP, save that $20 for a KFC meal when you are waiting for a technician to come out for repairs on the Chiq

I have 4 x Chiq appliances, I purchased a second hand fridge 5 years ago based on the model reviews and it is still going strong. After seeing the Chiq reviews, they are a pretty solid brand

I then got 2 more fridges brand new 3 years ago and no problems

My samsung washing machine died and decided to get a Chiq washing machine…. 5 months old, pretty solid so far.

Overall I am happy with Chiq. My 2 go to brands now are Samsung and Chiq in my buying process.
