Bought one of the amazon ones myself to confirm it is actually the composite version and, yes it is.

    I think they have it listed wrong frankly. The $15 one is meant to be rubber as you can see at BigW. Composite is $60 as per the Spalding site.

    I took a gamble on it for $12 because the amazon listing says composite. Arrived and it is composite. There isnt another composite leather ball anywhere near this price let alone a proper branded one.

    Its pretty weird as the bigw and spalding pics look identical (bigw are using a pic of the composite ball). I checked out the ball instore at BigW and theirs is indeed rubber.

        Yeah hence me ordering one before i posted the deal. I was fully expecting to have to complain to amazon and return it.

        It is actually a decent ball though. I play a couple of nights a week and needed a new one for warmups.

  Are you sure that these are not identical? The Spalding site you posted only lists the one rubber version.

    Yes. I am certain. I have held both.

    I ordered and waited until it was delivered before posting. The Bigw ball is basic rubber (their picture is wrong). The amazon ball is like a proper game ball.

      Ok - I ordered it because ~12ish dollars for a decent basketball is a good deal (and good price for the rubber version either way).

  The BigW photos looks like Composite but if it is Rubber then there is a mismatch with the description.

  Maybe it is the rubber version as listed on Spalding:

    I havent tried it outdoors. Every composite i have used outdoors in the past always gets chewed up pretty quick. Then again, for $12 it wouldn't be a big deal.
