  • Curious if I would be able to replace the 18650 batteries in these with 21700?

    • +1

impossible. You can't jam a physically longer and wider battery in it.

I was playing around with different batteries in my torches the other day, the C3 measured 19.1mm so nah, it's very tight in there

      • Gotcha thanks!

1200 lumens? For $4 i can get.. wow 10,000,000 lumens is advertised now. Wonder if i can find 1 billion.

Edit: 90 million, maybe a single 990 million.

  • Bought two of these a while back while it was a fantastic torch but the battery's completely died after only a year and half of little use, although that might be normal?

    • Yes seems to be reasonably common, mine did the same. They're protected batteries, on mine the protection circuit seem to kick in for no reason when charging once the voltage hits around 3.6V using my smart charger.

I was reading somewhere (here or another forum) that did a test and found the built-in charging circuit in their torch was overvolting the battery until the battery protection kicked in to disconnect the battery, so not sure if overvolting the batteries when charging via the USB port is damaging the protection circuit or they're just crap. The capacity was testing fine right up until it started playing up though.
