      Looks ok to me.

    • What issues are you experiencing with it? We'd love to improve it.

Because it's a community event thing.

because thats how it was when you played with your mates back in the days and its much better than playing it online

      • +1

Well tbh most games now don't have lam function and are all online lol. It is fun to be there shoulder to shoulder though.

Another reason to stick to the classics

        • +6

A lot of games do (CS2, Halo, Age of Empires, Rocket League, etc.)

That’s like saying, “we have social media, why we need friends?”

Ps. If you haven’t played Q3 over LAN with mates (old or new), you haven’t lived.

This has made me realise an entire generation is probably growing up without ever experiencing LAN gaming or Netcafes.

Some of the best times ever were yelling in the Netcafe while someone pulled off a ridiculous shot or clutched a round in CS.

You don't get that energy whatsoever playing solo.

You're missing the point. Playing on a LAN with mates was great. But going to a LAN where you don't know anyone? You might as well just play online.

        • +3

Going to LAN parties are a great way to make friends. That's half the reason we started The Big LAN.

Plenty of people have come to our events (and other LANs) solo and have made good friends.

Wish there were more games I payed, only one game there that I actually play occasionally….

And what is a card game doing there? Never even heard of it let also owning the cards….

    • +3

You aren't limited to the games on our list, you can play any games you want and invite others to join!

And I'm not sure which card game you are talking about?

      • Nevermind I misread it's a golf game not a card game..

I went to the last one in Mitcham. It was really well run and everybody was super friendly.

There was nothing religious. Board games were fun.

Even if you went solo, I think you'd have a good time.

    somebody do TF2

  • Funny coincidence being located at a church in Mitcham, so was the Streetgeek LAN in SA.

    • +1

It's just they have big halls and good prices.

      • -2

Why does this church look like a dilapidated warehouse, and why is a church in an industrial area?

        • +1

The church building was a furniture factory before it was a church.

        • Why is every single comment of yours on this post not worth half a turd? Maybe just piss off and find something else to be salty about in your life.

I remember playing Doom and Quake 1 on a LAN back in the day.

  • Are there any Lan event in Brisbane?

  • Can you download the games via the internet there? I am lacking a couple of the games that will be played you see….

    Also, worth coming at 4pm?

    • +1

Yeah you can download games via internet, and we also have a LAN Cache so all the games we run tournaments for (and others) will be available to download locally through steam.

And yeah, if you arrived at 4pm there'd still be quite a bit to do.

  • Marvel rivals… Looks good downloading now, how long to get ok at it do you think in hours? 48? 20? Or?

  • So do you need to pre-book or can u just show up?

    • We prefer people prebook but you can buy tickets at the door, cash or card :)

  • Oh the irony as most new games connect to cloud servers.
