Strongly recommend that anyone buying NordVPN turns off auto renew payments upon account creation.

    • No difference between "upon account creation" and "upon paid cashback". But any subscription service should have auto renew switched off as soon as cashback is paid.

made this mistake last time I set up an account. Thankfully the refund process is quick and automated, 30 days no questions asked.

Bought a subscription recently (26th Dec) but the CR didn't track it. Just submitted a claim.

    • +3

CR never seem to track on anything I try I submit screen shots & info but they refuse each time I just wait for top cash & never have a issue .

    • Same I have submitted a claim and still waiting to hear from them. Now I doubt I will get the cashback

    • Got an email that mine tracked despite getting CR warning that an 'adblocker' has been detected. have had this warning with other purchase as well that still manage to track.
Not sure how they're detecting ad blocking though as I make a point to turn off adguard DNS settings in router and browser blockers are turned off too.

      • I guess certain browser settings need to be changed, if not because of extension/add-ons or other app. What device and browser do you use? If Apple device, there are some settings need to be changed too. I have windows, android phones, and ipad.

Mostly I use chrome mobile browser (no add-ons) in my android phone for cashback transactions, except Pizza Hut deals from Shopback that need Apple Pay and certain bank card for profit (I used ipad).

        • I'm on Windows (and Android) and mostly Brave but even Firefox gives the same ad blocker detected message. Suppose it could be the browser's own privacy settings that are too strict despite being on lowest setting.

I've not tested with Chrome but will check it out for curiosity sake in case tracking does actually stop working on the others 2

            @deltakilo: To ensure tracking success:
In Brave browser Settings - Brave Shields & Privacy:
✓ Block trackers & ads: Allow all trackers & ads
            ✓ Block scripts: OFF
✓ Block cookies: Allow all cookies
            ✓ Block Fingerprinting: OFF
✓ Prevent fingerprinting via language settings: OFF
            ✓ Content filtering: Disable all
✓ Use secure DNS: ON or Use your current service provider. Make sure no adblocking DNS like NextDNS or Adguard DNS etc.
✓ Block cookie consent notices: OFF
✓ Send a "Do Not Track" request OFF

✓ Brave Firewall + VPN: OFF

            Site settings:
✓ Third party cookies: Allow third party cookies
            ✓ JavaScript: Allowed

            In Firefox browser Settings:
            ✓ Enhanced tracking protection: OFF
✓ Site permission - Cross-site cookies: Ask to allow

This is the reason why Chrome browser is more recommended as the settings that need to be changed are less than Brave browser for example.

            In Chrome browser Settings:
✓ Privacy and security - Third party cookies: Allow third party cookies
✓ Send a "Do Not Track" request: OFF
✓ Use secure DNS: Automatic or OFF (don't use Adguard DNS or NextDNS etc.)
✓ Site settings - Third party cookies are allowed
            ✓ JavaScript: Allowed

            • @neoleo: @neoleo Cheers for the details, most settings match mine. I even installed Chrome and still no joy.
I did however track down my 'glitch' as being the Portmaster app that I use to tame that constant obnoxious 'calling home' data traffic. Despite the browsers having full WAN access I think I've got an individual block rule or two causing my issue. Something for a rainy day since CR and SB still track okay despite the warning.

              • @deltakilo: I think better also disable the app or firewall etc. that you use to block other apps or certain websites when doing cashback transactions. I disable my Adguard app when doing cashback transactions in my Chrome mobile browser in my android phone. If there's an option to accept all cookies, then just accept it. Later after finish, we can clear the browsing history include the cookies anyway.

I use Adguard app to block apps that don't really need data and also "Hibernator" app to hibernate apps that don't need to run all day in the background such as shopping apps, games, food delivery apps, bank apps, etc.

    • Same happened to me, didn't track so cancelled under 30 days direct with Nord.

PIA VPN recently had a sale, that tracked ok though… and much cheaper (with no speed drops).
Was with Nord for a couple years and had no issues, but definitely not paying full price!

  • does this stack with promo code? softo70

  • anybody use NordVPN in China? saw positive and negative feedbacks online, but want to hear from people with real experience.

  • has anyone been able to subscribe to the Basic plan with 74% for USD80 and also been able to claim the Cash rewards 95% off as well?

    • +1

They won't know until the amount is paid out. It will be tracked and then declined after the clear days.

  • If I have a current subscription but sign up using a different name, different email addy, different debit card but using the same Cash Rewards account will that mean I'm a new customer?

    • Yes. I did the same and my cashback was confirmed within 2 months. Make sure you dont add any ad-ons even if its provided free with the sub.
      Read T&C's thoroughly.

    Looks like its over?

    • Had a look as my subscription is expiring in a few days, and you're right — Cashrewards only showing 26% cash back.
