I was looking at these. Nice saving as I think they are being replaced. Just be mindful that it looks like it takes 2 filters and they retail for $150 each (you can get cheaper) but something to consider when working out the running costs

I put this before the filter to extend it's life.

      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32861099829.html?spm=a2g0o.o…

      • Is that the size? The one linked seems to be 12cm wide

        • Don't worry I had to double check hehe… 3001200mm = 30120cm (1.2m) and it's netting. As MM said they put it before (so in addition to) the filter. Likely to trap more dust etc thus increasing the life of the filter. It potentially can be cut to size if needed as it's not replacing the filter

          • @o0o: right, thanks
I bought some extra to put into the aircon return vent.
            Ta

        • Yeah its pretty easy to cut

      • @MagicMushroom Do you put it before the pre filter or before the HEPA filter? Possible for you to upload a picture of this?

Excellent price. From memory Samsung are one of the best air purifiers based on Choice magazine tests both for particles and VOCs. Sure the filters are expensive but they're expensive for a reason. Philips filters are just as expensive for their large air purifiers.

Xiaomi have good specs on paper and are dirt cheap in comparison but they also performed worse than the leaders. But there's millions in China using them and they must help filter out toxins and pollution in China so they're still effective but far from great.

Don't buy aftermarket filters as you have no ability to verify their quality or performance. You might as well not use a filter as they could be emitting more VOCs from toxic glues or materials used in manufacturing.

this is indeed one of the highest rated air purifiers from choice a few years ago and this deal is completely insane.

I bought mine 2+ years ago expecting bushfires to come and still have it waiting. I have zero regrets because the filters don't need to be changed if you're not using them. Plus the year when bushfires completely destroyed everything on the south east coast all air purifiers sold out.

The price of the filters is something you need consider but at this price I wouldn't hesitate.

On the few times I've used it the beast has cleared out whatever nasty stuff blows in like people burning fires etc

  • I bought the Breville Air Filter very happy with it.

These were used by health workers in quarantine hotels during COVID in QLD. I have no knowledge of how effective they were but must have been considered a decent unit.

    • Literally every classroom in Victoria seems to have these exact air purifiers.

Standard HEPA filters are not effective against COVID, however they are effective went they are coated with an anti-viral agent. source

  • This thing is a beast - I was actually quite surprised when it arrived despite reading reviews saying that it's larger than you'd think. That being said this thing is awesome, pulls in a decent amount of air and makes a noticeable difference according to the little air things sensor. We have kept it running in various rooms around the house as needed and recently used it when there was a bushfire nearby and it helped a lot with the air quality (though you could still smell the smoke). In terms of filters, when the app said to replace them, I did my classic move where I dismissed the notification and forgot all about it. Maybe 4 months later I hit them with the air compressor. The prefilters catch so much dust that the charcoal ones let out barely any dust at all, regardless gave them all a good clean and it's good as new again. For the price this thing is awesome!

Anyone bought for $298??, Because what i found on te ticket id that the price is only if you buy a care plan for $ 357. Please tell me i am wrong. Pleaseeeeeeeeee

    • +2

Or does it mean it's $357 total, when including a care plan?

      • No idea but my guess is $357 on top of $298. Hope i am wrong

        • +1

It’s $298 total, shared receipt below

    • +1

I got one for $298, they did try to offer me the care plan which I declined.

  • OP @Jackgumtreeau
Did you buy it and if so, mind to share the Receipt?

    • +1

Yeah I got one, will see if I can upload the receipt when I get home. Still plenty in stock last night when I was there.

    • I shared receipt below

  • Great price. Got mine for $499 a few years ago and have no regrets. Works very well on all sorts of pollutants.

    • +1

How often did you have to replace the filters and how much roughly are they?

  • +1

We use it about 12 hours a day, and get roughly 18 months. They are about 100 to replace

  • Just be careful with any purifier you buy that filters are still available. Or, stock up on a few when you buy the unit.

  • +1

I called the store but they are quoting $754 but happy to reduce price if they have proof of lower price. Does anyone have a receipt for $298

    • I shared receipt below

I purchased Philips Air purifier from HN with 5 year warranty , Now the Model have been superseded and can’t find the Air Purifier filter anywhere, the air purifier is still under warranty But no Replacement filter ! I reckon Dyson is the way to go .

    • If you’re not after genuine filters. You can usually source them from aliexpress.

    • Which model? Try David Jones

    • Dyson air purifiers are terrible, low CADR and you’d have to run them at max speed (which means noise and high electricity use) in all but the smallest of rooms.

Bought for $370 from Blacktown. They have 6 more units which they can sell for $370 if anyone is interested

    • Did you get yours today? Do you know if you have to call to lock in the stock or if it’s advertised as $370 in the store? Thank you!

      • Yes, got it today. Advertised for $ 753 but can sell for $370. That's the best they can do. Try to call them and see if they can keep one for you. Very helpful staff at Blacktown

    • Kind of weird they can't sell it for the same as the other store, it's stock run out.

      • Do you know how many left?

        • None in store I had to go to a warehouse in Alexandria to pick them up

          • @Ajsyd999: Did you make the order in store, then pick up? Cheers

            • @MrMeow: Yes but you have to go to the store in person to order. As other posters have commented the phone call method just isn’t working

      • Might wanna censor your details on the receipt there

  • I called two stores (Gosford & Lake Haven) And they both said no chance, they're listed as 999 in-store and they are saying something is up with the pricing of the Bondi one :/

  • +1

So cheap, the 2 filters cost half of this

  • +1

I called the Bondi store earlier and reserved the second last unit. By the time I got there (~4pm) the last one had been purchased as well.

Apparently the manager needed to clear the stock and decided to sell it at below cost price, which probably explains why other stores couldn't match it.

The display unit is the only stock left. No box available, but the salesperson was offering to bubble wrap it for someone who asked about it.

    Thanks OP!
