You can also get it without the folio case for the same price. Good for reading a book or watching netflix. I'd grab it but my E8 which I use mainly at the gym is still kicking.

That's about $230 on amazon right now. I feel like for an extra 100 you do get better hardware but then you lose with random OS / software updates. I'd prefer to have stability than have to run around finding a supported rom on telegram etc and going through all that stuff.

I'd recommend gettign the Samsung Tb A9 if your budget can streth. the Helio G99 is decent for basic web browsing, youtube etc. Better update support as well.
The M9 didn't review well but the M8 is also on sale at $117 which has less specs but cheaper. My current 5yo 8" Lenovo is at death's door so good time to swap it.

I'd say so. I also have a high end 10" e-ink device which is nice but i struggle to see what the fuss is about over a tablet - i'm just as happy reading on 8" lenevo tablet from 2019 and this device would be a bit better than that. Your milleage may vary. I like the form factor of a 8" tab, fits nicely in the hand or on exercise equipment.
