    • where would you get 0.63 of an ozb'er from?

      • Someone must make a sacrifice for the greater ozbargain good…

  • Can I learn everything in 13.9 days and cancel quickly?

After revoking our free 1 year Coursera Plus Subscription via VPN Mexico, it's a no from me.

Has anyone completed these Coursera courses and actually landed a job?

I don't know if it landed me a job, but I finished JHU's data science specialization a while back and it has probably helped me get gigs.

Problem is that the certifications are so poorly policed that I'm sure their value drops over time.

Personally, I wouldn't do online courses to land a job as online course certificates probably aren't a good signal for employers. I'd use online learning for personal interest and/or professional development.

    • From a coursera course? No

    • I just noticed they have a 'learners outcome report' here.

Obviously take it with a huge grain of salt, but a small % of course takers report tangible career benefits and employment outcomes. Although, I'd say it's a low enough number to back up the point that you shouldn't expect a certificate will help get you a job.

The intrinsic rewards seemed quite strong (again noting it is a survey done by Coursera presented to make them look good).

I am in India currently, and when I clicked on this link, the price is showing as INR 7499 (AUD 140.95) per annum. Thanks

    • I tried to use a VPN and got the same price but wasn't able to pay, it says "unable to login" after I put in CC details in.

      • Worked for me. Now just waiting for the dreaded cancellation email.

If self-learning is what you're looking for check your local library for subscriptions to LinkedIn Learning (used to be Lynda.com). Plenty of good content to keep your minds busy.
