SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C Flash Drive (128GB) is also half price at $22. That one has double the storage, both USB type A and C connectors and is faster (USB 3.1 Gen 1).

Thanks. Needed this for my High Seas content to play on IPad!

    • is 3.1 gen 1 5Gbps speed?

      • Thanks. Something useful to me to spend my birthday perks on, lol.

      • Theoretical speed maybe. Manufacturer specs for this show 150 MBps read speed, compared to the 100 MBps of OP's. Not blazing fast, but reasonable.

    • Cheers for the heads up.

Same price on Amazon, so I grabbed it off there.

      • Thanks for this. OPs drive looks like it has better performance.

    • Aren't these the ones that can only do their rated speed for about 10 seconds, then overheat and get very hot and slow?

Plus vote for not mentioning perks 👏

Thanks OP. Got one and paid with $10 birthday perk.

  • Thanks. Got one for $1.

    • Thanks OP. Also got one for $1 (using perks). Went for the blue.

If you need one urgently, this is okay I suppose. Otherwise, the only flash drive worth buying these days are the Samsung Bars. Reliable hunks of metal they are.

If you're patient they can be had pretty cheap too (I paid $23.51 each for the 256GB model last Prime Day sale).

    • Are they usb a or usb c?

      • USB A. Adapters are cheap if needed though.

        • Ah ok, how do you reckon they compare to the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C Flash Drive (128GB) that Taiguile posted above? On the fence atm cos I don't need a USB urgently

          • @Bonemusher: Personally? I would never touch another Sandisk flash drive with a 10 foot pole. But that's only because I'm still bitter from being burned by firmware issues on multiple flash drives in the past.

The only Sandisk product I buy anymore are their Ultra MicroSD cards. They seem to be okay.

          • @Bonemusher: i have some of the go drives, very useful as some laptops don’t have sub A anymore or if using on phone or tablet, some desktops don’t have usb C on the front or car media players are usually A, really like the go type drives.

    • So true

  • Burn baby burn

I remember buying my very first USB stick in 2004. 64MB and $89.
It was a revelation, not having to burn CD-RW's every time to take to TAFE but damn was it expensive.

      You're giving me flashbacks haha.

I used to use 1.44MB floppies (late primary/early high school) until I bought a 128MB sometime around 05/06. Was one of these JOGR ones that were popular at the time.

        You and me both! :)
I still remember whiting out labels when I re-purposed them. Good times.

I can't even find a picture of mine. I remember stumbling across it at Harvey Norman. It was an Aiptek brand.
I was the envy of everyone in my TAFE class who were still using USB's and CD-RWs haha!

It was life changing - just keeping all your work on it and not copying back and fourth.

I remember getting my first external hard drive in high school (250gb) and I thought I'd never be able to fill it.

Still have it lying around somewhere.

      • I should hunt mine down- it's laying around somewhere… would be a heck of a time capsule! :)

The first CD-ROM my family aforded was around $1000, installed. We thought we didn't have to walk around the neighborhood with dozens of floppy disks for games such as The Lion King or Prince of Persia. Oh my, those were the times!
