I have never quite understood the pricing of hurtigruten. If you want to go up the norwegian coast you can get on one as a ferry for a fraction of the cost, yet they sell as cruise packages and suddenly the same ship and same rooms are many times the price. When I did Norway cruise I booked as a ferry trip from port to port rather than a packaged cruise.
Thanks for this info. We've never travelled there, so weren't sure how easy it is to get around. I've previously caught a ferry between Copenhagen and Norway, but have never actually travelled around Scandinavia.
They have multiple ships travelling up and down the coastline, you can go on their website and book port to port, they do reserve the top end rooms for cruise packages, but if you aren't chasing the suites etc then it is really easy to just do something like book from Bergen to Tromso on their website (the trip I did last time).
Thanks Phalaxis.
We've booked a cruise to Norway and Iceland for 2026, so would love to be able to do it fir nothing!
