Canon EOS R5 II Mirrorless Camera $5,239.06

How much extra is it if you want the mirrors?

    • +3

      +1 jv

      • I agree. That deserves a +1

    • +1

Cameras are the same as your house, @jv: better without mirrors.

    • Doesn't even come with pedals

    • JV moment

  • Nice one Kev

It does have essence of "Programmatic specificity"…

How does this compare to my phone camera?

    • +10

      This one can't make calls.

      • He is comparing with his phone camera.

          Whoosh

Great price on the R5II! Been wanting to get a high mpx camera for a while but recently made some large (up to 1.3m) canvas prints that looked great from my 24mpx R6II which made me question myself if I really need it…especially when the R6II already does pretty much everything I needed it to do.

    • +1

Probably don't need it for canvas prints, especially with what AI upscalers can do these days.

      • Yea I am holding out getting a new camera until I see a noticeable leap (wishful thinking) in image quality or when quad pixel AF comes to prosumer level bodies…

      • +1

Canvas in particular is quite forgiving compared to other print media.

What's with all these expensive cameras. If you're spending more than a few grand then go to New York you'll save a lot of money.

    • it’s a professional camera suitable for both photographers and (hybrid) videographers

    • +6

I assume the R5 is sub $1,000 in New York?

Because that’s what it would need to be to break even on your round trip to buy a $5,000 camera in another country that won’t even come with local warranty.

    • hey try to earn money with your phone camera.

    • +1

      USD4300 at Manhattan-based B&H Photo.

      More expensive that this basically.

      Doh!

    • One of the best hybrid cameras for pro shooters. Actually a bargain considering the pricing on the competition.

  • Hmm two of these or one Leica Q3 43?

    • This with several RF lens, rather than a Leica with a single fixed lens

    • Seems a bit of a random comment?

      • You'd be lucky if 5 people actually bought the stuff, off oz bargain through this post.

If you got this kind of money to buy this kind of stuff, walk in and try and get a deal…

There shouldn't be any millionaires browsing ozb. If I made 150$k/yr clear I'm not on here browsing bargains.

        • Huh? I know some people on combined incomes of $500k+ who definitely love browsing OzB.

One of the richest people I know is really stingy and goes mad for perceived bargains.

          • -1

@skittlebrau: More rich folk that got nothing to do with their lives except buy more stuff… - can name plenty of things I'd rather do than be on oz bargain if I had that kind of cash.

Thrifty on 500$k is just plain dumb.

I know some rich people that go to vinnies for 2nd hand clothes too. Just wrong in society.

            • @cobknob: understand this, people are not here because they are BROKE. people are here because they don't wanna get ripped off or just want a good deal.

I can't speak for other products but in the photography world you have to contend with a) high prices b) depreciation. I would say regardless of your social/wealth status you should always aim to stretch your money further in this hobby.

and people that buy R5s most likely are also the type that buy L lenses, so it's easily a 10k+ setup (with just two L lenses). even if you could save 10% of that setup it's a (profanity) ton of money still.

        • the richest people are usually the tightest.
I bought an R5 mk2 from previous ozbargain deal so i guess there is only 4 others to meet your quota

          • @Lonewolf1983:

the richest people are usually the tightest

            Hmm….

            Yep 4 others.. :p

  • +2

You have GOT to be kidding me… i literally just got my R5II delivered today after taking the jump after waiting so long for a good deal and not finding any. FFS.

    • +1

Free returns? Credit card price protection? Buy another and return the sealed old one.

    • have you unboxed it?

      • Yeah i did a few hours prior to the deal post. Oh well. Can't do anything about it so i'm pretending i didn't see this deal. ahem. ;)
