Excellent basic biro. Value for money. Black, blue, or assorted colours.

1.0 mm biros are better than 0.8 mm ones.

These are very similar to the Bic Cristal Original Pens (also on sale now, any 2 for $5, pack of 12):

Same price on Catch, Kmart and Target.

    • Officework is price matching.

      • The Inkjoy from papermate are terrific and also $2 for 10 in single black/blue options.

Only for the "assorted" pack. Officeworks has the $2 price for black, blue and assorted packs.

  • Catch:
    Inkjoy is on sale:
    https://www.catch.com.au/product/paper-mate-inkjoy-ballpoint…

    But not kilometrico:

    Very similar.

Both are on sale at Kmart.

  • The formulation of these pens was changed a few years ago, and due to low demand at full price, they remain on the shelves for extended periods. As a result, most of the pens are no longer functional by the time of purchase, making them far from a bargain.

The ones I just bought from Woolies are working fine.

But your point is well taken, I was thinking about this—definitely a valid downside. Ink has dried on some of the ones from last year. Not sure if the Bic ones are better in this regard.

But at 20c a pop, still a good value because they write wonderfully when they do.

      My son’s go-to pen.

    Is “Kilometrico” a bad translation?

Kilometre in Spanish is “Kilometro” not “Kilometrico”?!

It's a brand name, don't think too hard about whether it makes sense as a real word, just assume some marketing team thought it sounded good.

Source: I am old and remember when these first came in.

The term came from the fact that one could (apparently) write kilometres of writing from a single pen. There was a lot of advertising around this at the time (early 1980s).

  • These are premium, definitely more comfortable and convenient to use. The sale price is tempting.
