They have to run out of money at some point. I think it was (maybe still is) Fortnight or something that printed them a bunch of money.

Fortnite still earns billions of dollars per year for Epic, the amount spent on free games and exclusives for their storefront are drops in the bucket.
I don't like the Epic storefront at all, but the fact remains that this is still a sustainable business model for them.
