Hey guys, Traving soon on the 5th and flight prices are expensive (not including the stupid bus to and from airports) anything better than the flybus $62 ticket?

You could look into car share services or relocating vehicles. Do you have a licence?
Sometimes the firefly drop their prices.
You could try the “Cliffy shuffle”. If you left now you might get there by the 5th,,,
I thought Cliffy ran to Sydney…
If you’ve got a concession you get cheaper fares on the train, other than that if it’s a trip you’ll do a few times in the next 6 months look into a Discovery Pass which is 6 months of unlimited travel in NSW for $420
XPT is fully booked on 5 Jan of next year from Syd-Mel.
I must have been searching the wrong date, my bad
Walk, albeit it will take a bit longer
I guess they can cycle if they have a push bike, might be slightly faster.
I would argue regarding all the comments that walking and cycling etc are less expensive are untrue. Its always more expensive to eat / get drinks when travelling, resorting to buying from servos, fast food etc. It would add up to a more expensive trip than the bus…. without even considering your time.
Hitchhike….
Gave a couple of dudes a lift on one of my trips interstate when I was driving trucks… from Fawkner to the shire which was their destination
check if bush ride offers short trips. its mainly used for interstate travellling at a low cost.
There's a Facebook group you can ask in and might find a backpacker driving up in their car/van and you can tag along with a bit of fuel money and some company
@ivan_milat - any tips for the OP?
