Hi folks, I lived in a cave, just realised that I still have around $40 in the 3ds eshop balance, and that it can't be transferred anymore to the switch eshop. I asked their support which is very adamant that there is no other outcome except for accepting that the balance is gone now.
Do you think it is fair and reasonable and that there is nothing else I can do?
Also the ability to merge NNID and My Nintendo accounts was available for 7 years, which is a reasonable amount of time.
This is just wrong. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. THis is called a scam, stealing money. They don't care. don't SUPPORT THIS. Don't care if they were closing down. They shouldn't even close down. people losing access to their games and everything. MONEY. stupid. just wrong.

calm down my dude. It's not their responsibility, as a company they can only do so much (and they have, I don't own a 3DS and even I knew about it) and it's more than likely in their T&Cs that they don't have to do anything further.
Also, it shut down 27th of March 2023 and OP is only just remembering now? They clearly didn't care for it that much.
and like the other person said, they don't lose access to their games. It's merely whatever balance they had leftover.

I think its fair and reasonable. They made countless announcements saying that its closing.
This is a legacy system and support for them is usually nonexistence so there really isnt much you can expect from them

call it a $40 lesson in paying attention to where your money is, and move on
