Qantas Lounge Access for Kids

Will be traveling from Singapore back to Sydney on Qantas. Looking to buy lounge access passes but a bit unsure for the kids.

This shows that kids under 17 should be free, is that the case?

I would contact Qantas to confirm. The complimentary access doesn’t include kids.

    • Missed that ty.

I haven't seen this myself but check the details linked by @try2bhelpful: When you redeem a Complimentary Lounge Invitation online, you may be able to purchase a Lounge Access Invitation for your guest(s) or children if they are included in the same booking as your booked flight.

That link does says for Qantas owned and operated lounges, yes a level of kids are free, it also says child access is subject to lounge type and various age limitations apply.

Are you going to a Qantas lounge or a Partner lounge? If a partner lounge, then all children are counted towards guest numbers. So each kid will need a lounge pass.

As this is a lounge pass, how did you get it? As the Complimentary Lounge Invitations ones say no kids/guests, if this is the one you have.

    • It is a Qantas lounge, I am guessing it is the complimentary passes that are being sold in classifieds. So will need to buy a pass for everyone it seems.

If so, that would be correct.

        • The only issue with those - is that you have to link them to a ticket and if the gods of the lounge say no due to it being busy season, you can't apply them and left with useless passes.

  • The kids under 17 bit only applies to Qantas Club members.

You may be lucky and the lounge manager may allow you to bring kids in without their own complimentary passes.

A friend was able to do that but when I have been at a lounge, I have seen people turned away if they don’t have passes for everyone including children even when the lounges aren’t busy.

The lounge is often busy around the time of the Singapore to Sydney flight with multiple other flights, so personally I wouldn’t risk it. I’d make sure I have passes for all.
