35mm seems a bit small tho

hoping they'll bring out an olive dial on the gold case one of these days

    35mm is for women.

    • Your grandfather wore a smaller watch, was he a woman?

      • -1

He didn’t wear small watches. Grandmother wore those.

        • Agree, sign of the times, personally I hate small watches even when women wear them. 35mm watch is so small even for smaller wrists. To each their own.

          • @zxcvb: Disagree. The days of big watches are coming to a close smaller watches are on trend now.

If you have a 7+ inch wrist then yeah probably too small for you.

            • @Circly: Oh well, I for one am going to resist it all the way. I just can't stand small watches. It needs to be atleast 38mm for me to even consider, that too for a dress watch maybe.

              • @zxcvb: 38/39mm is the sweet spot for me I reckon !

My favourite watch is at 40mm though. Any larger and it's too big on my dainty wrists.

  • One has to be politically correct in these times, This is a unisex watch. Nice watch though.

If anyone likes these colours. https://www.davidjones.com/product/tissot-seastar-1000-40mm-… the seaster is available for $489. Personally I'd rather get Seiko GMTs at this price range.

I'd take the gentleman over the prx. It's a more timeless design with the beautiful light tiffany blue dial

    • timeless

      You mean bland, right?

      • Each to their own. You won't ever see me with a prx

        • Nor I, but fortunately it isn't a binary choice

"timeless" is an interesting word to use with a watch. Is that referring to one with a flat battery, or that hasn't been moved, wound or in the light for a long time?

      • Lol well played

        • and agreed re the preferred look between those two, but that can often be how things are when one is more than twice the price of the other. Not always, but in this case, I think the more expensive one does look better.

          • @AdModnar: This is a powermatic though so it's competitor is the gold in ops listing

  • Tempted! But I do not know how I will explain this purchase to the Mrs…

    • +1

She’ll see the watch and think it’s for her anyway.
