Thanks, OP. We just used the last of ours!

Thanks OP. Just got two, though just a note, one 5L bag only does 80m2.

      "Error 404
      Sorry, page not found!"

I searched Bunnings and not coming up. EOL maybe?

      • +1

Working for me in Perth and ordered one online.

        • Oh yes, it shows for Western Australia stores. But for some reason, it won't let me ship via OnePass from WA > NSW. It's not showing for me when I select a NSW store, but stock check says a few NSW stores have them in stock. Odd.

      • +2

This stock checker might help you find it. https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/3020384

Nice handy little tool. Ill have to keep that in mind. The stock checker link though shows the 5L. Prav linked a 30L, I/N:3020407

      • Same result for me

Rather a carton of beer. The soil and I both benefit from it.

    • +1

A carton of beer for $5/$15?

Get back in ya time machine

  • cheers, free delivery with onepass

    • Bought two 30 litre bags for ONEPASS delivery

How ridiculous, I can get these delivereed to me, free, but other small stuff, I can't

      • yeah weird stuff…

  • Improves water penetration of hard-to-wet soil.
Reduces water usage by preventing wasteful water run-off.

So this is basically no good for sandy soils? I thought it might actually help to retain moisture. Guess I got it completely wrong.

    • It's got coir in it so might help retain some water. But if you just want water retention then why not get coir by itself?

      • Any idea how this differs from vermiculite? Although this covers more area but says keep out of reach of pets and children and the few reviews arent great

        • AFAIK This is coir (organic matter) and a surfactant which helps push water places that it doesn't go so easily. Overtime the surfactant won't remain in the soil and the coir will breakdown.

Vermiculite will retain water but will not breakdown. Once added it won't leave the soil unless you physically remove it

@Chocobros: Thanks for your trouble in replying 😀 sounds as though i need it then for my garden beds. Water just seems to run straight through

            • @corky: No worries. If you're growing food/edible plants I recommend dynamic lifter. Apply it repeatedly and you'll get better soil in general and not just better water retention. Also probably better to use with non edibles but I guess surfactant/chemical residue is less of a concern.

I used the 25kg standard pellet dynamic lifter from bunnings to really good effect on my soil which was like dust due to weed killer. Brought it back to life and retains water well

              • @Chocobros: Thanks for your kind advice. Dynamic lifter it will be then. You sound very knowledgeable

                • @corky: Haha I assure you I'm not knowledgeable but that's kind of you to say.

Just sharing what worked for me. Gl with your gardening 😊

It's good for sandy soils … most sand drains well but does not retain, and in some areas you'll find really hydrophobic sand (water beads on the surface and doesn't do anything). This product is made to address these issues.

    • +1

Yeah it'll help with sandy soils still. Another amendment you can add is Humic Acid to aid water and nutrient uptake by roots

  • Damn I just spent $33 on the eco growth stuff

  • Which one of the two options mentioned by OP is better or more economical?

  • How do you practically apply this? Do you need a seed spreader?

    • With this stuff it doesnt really matter. Can just throw it out my hand if needed.

    • +3

Do anything. Throw handfuls on top, lightly scatter into the breeze, mix into the soil. It's mostly coconut coir and Seasol.

Good news: excessive amounts won't cause problems, unlike lawn fertilizer it won't cause burning. Too much and you're just wasting money.

      • Thanks will try on some dirt nature strip that won't grow grass

  • 4L Hortico version also $5 clearance

  • Is this stuff safe for edibles, i.e. raised veg beds?

    • +1

Safe. It's mostly coconut coir and some Seasol or seaweed extract. If you're buying bagged potting mix or garden soil it's that, without the dirt and compost.

      • Thanks. My veg beds just rufuse to take a watering. All the water pools on surface or runs off. Not sure if this would help…

        • guessing your soil is heavy clay? if so might need to add gypsum and alot of organic matter

  • Anyone know how to get Delivery from another State > NSW with OnePass? The Yates 30L Waterwise (I/N:3020407) doesn't show up when I choose a NSW store, but it does when I chose a store from either WA or QLD (haven't tried the other States).
Issue I'm having is, if I add to cart with either WA or QLD store selected & try shipping to NSW address, I get message,

"Please contact your local Bunnings to discuss delivery options available Change store to check availability or remove item."

Strangely, when I search I/N:3020407 on https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/3020407/nsw, it shows five stores in NSW as being in the green for stock levels.

    • Nope
      Think it's impossible

I cant get something sent to me from Bunnings with OnePass, unless its directly from my nearest store
Despite other stores being available, unless it's on stock at my closest store, I can't get delivery

      Tried on many items before

  • thanks OP =)

  • snagged one

  • +1

This is not granular ie hand spread

  • HI can you clarify? the description says "granular"

    • Have a look at the image on Bunnings does not say granular. It is more like a soil texture, I thought it was granular and got a fair amount. Just put a bag across my front lawn, ended up just throwing it out by hand.

      • The main active is detergent, so you can buy it as a liquid or in the dry form which they call granular, the dry version also includes coir for water retention

      • Thank you just received the packs - yes definitely not granular- will need a windless day!

        • Suggest getting a proper granular or liquid next time. Will try a liquid myself.

  • just got a refund because it’s out of stock…

  • Can I use this directly on my lawn?

    • +1

Yes just chuck it on, I am not confident it will do alot unless you smother it in areas.

  • Got 3x at Malaga WA. Thanks
