Just got a cat recently and cleaning the litter is the worst part of it so we invested in a scoop free cat litter from Petsafe. It worked well initially and then i tried to substitute it with Kmart crystals and felt it jammed a bit because the crystals felt a bit big. Has anyone found any cheap alternatives to their crystal litters or any "hacks". Ive also seen some people cut holes down the bottom

Not crystal but I’ve found the Aldi kitty litter the best, it’s like $7-10 for a 10kg bag
EDIT, this one
https://www.aldi.com.au/groceries/pet-supplies/pet-supplies-…Crystal litter is awful for the environment but also awful/unhealthy for cats. Suggest taking the 5 minutes it takes to scoop and actually getting cheaper and environmentally friendly litter. I get wood pellets $10 for 15kg, with sifting litter boxes.
We have a pellet one where the pellets disintegrate when wet and go into the base. You still need to remove the chunky bits but they flush well.
If you must have crap soaker bacteria incubator for your 'always constrained cat' why not use #atapulgite? It's not ancient Egypt.
Now at least you know why other ppl don't want other ppls wildlife munchers visiting their gardens.EDIT #aka granulated bentonite
We use this, https://www.petbarn.com.au/ezi-lockodour-dual-layer-cat-litt…
The poos get scooped out and flushed as needed and we change the pad weekly.
Pellets last for ages, i think we top up monthly as you lose some with the poos when scooping and a bag of 10 pads last 10 weeks and costs $32.00
Best thing we have done and a lot cheaper than crystals.I second the Ezi Lockodour system - crystals made our kitty’s feet bleed so went looking for an alternative. This one is great and I often order on eBay or Amazon when we need top ups much cheaper than at the pet stores.
