        To be eligible for the two complimentary Qantas Club Lounge invitations, you must first register and then use your Altitude Black Card in Australia to purchase selected Qantas products and services directlywith Qantas.

          Well thats weird because I received my lounge passes without making a purchase with Qantas.

          Perhaps "to purchase selected Qantas products and services directly with Qantas." refers to, in order to access the lounge, you need to be flying with Qantas (or Jetstar)

    Amex Qantas Premium has a similar requirement. Westpac also requires you to submit a registration form. Amex rates Qantas award redemption taxes as an eligible spend.

        For this year's redemption I spent a few hundred on taxes for an upcoming points flight redemption. If you redeem a flight using reward points then cancel later on, you'll get the taxes refunded but incur a cancellation fee in QFF points.
