  • I’d personally go the Makita 36v (18x2) instead of a single 18v.

    • I've had the Milwaukee for 5 years and its got plenty of grunt for line trimming and attachments including edger, hedger and chain saw. No need to carry the extra weight of a 2nd battery. Obviously depends what ecosystem you're already in though.

    • 2 batteries are unnecessary for line trimming.

i have one of these atm, i use the chainsaw and hedge trimmer and works well… Great price, milwaukee gear rarely comes on special…

  • Is this gen 1 or gen 2?

Looks like a not insignificant difference between the two.

      This would be the Gen 1, M18FOPH-0 - https://www.milwaukeetool.com.au/outdoor-power/quik-lok-syst…

      The Gen 2's model number is M18FOPH20 - https://www.milwaukeetool.com.au/outdoor-power/quik-lok-syst…

Wanted to add, the EGO attachments work with the Milwaukee power head.

Yeah looks like an update to allow for new heavier-duty attachments. There's a different fan set up to cool the motor (I've never had a cooling problem but pro landscapers might especially on the chainsaw attachments) and it now has three speed settings in addition to variable control within those settings. Slightly heavier too. An updated unit is a good sign from Milwaukee that they continue offering (new) tools in the gardening space.

      • Agreed. Milwaukee is killing it in the power tools space right now.
