  • Cheers.

Black is $45 and ships from Amazon AU as well

      It only costs π extra.

  • -1

FYI, the way the cap is connected to the bottle feels like cheap trash. Everyday it feels like it's going to break at any second.

    • -1

It's magnetic, it stays in the lid when you drink. You're complaining for no reason.

    • +3

It really isnt that bad lol

      • It's advertised as a 90 dollar bottle. It should have a premium feel.
I prefer the Decor lid retention mechanism.

    • +3

Everyday I've literally never had that experience with mine.

    • +1

I just take the connector plastic off. It's just awkward to screw on/off. And I have yet to lose the cap. I have had several of these.

    • +2

What are you doing to your bottle lol.

    • I have one and no, it's not gonna break any second

    • Agreed, that was one of my first thoughts when i saw this bottle "this is made to break". And if you search up that bottle name, that plasticy bit is one of the top results 😆

  • +1

What is advantage of camelbak comparing with decor sisters or smash brand?

Even Kmart themo flask performance very well.

    • +4

I bought a sistema one at Coles on clearance just to see how shit it would be against a name brand one like my contigo or old camelback - and it actually became my daily lol

    • Not sure about decor etc but the camelback warranty is pretty good. The magnetism in my lid reduced after a while and they replaced it no questions asked.

  • +3

Highly recommend the Owala Freesip, currently $38.11aud from Amazon US (diff colours diff prices), it’s really solid and keeps cold water cold for ages, it’s the best one I’ve ever owned , built in straw function or free pour

    • link?

    • +2

      Unfortunately it's only for the 700ml. I'm chasing a 1L and above.

      • +1

        Get the 40oz(1.185L) Owala Freesip.

        • +4

          It's over $64 :(

          • @Sean8802: They have sales on random colours / sizes pretty frequently. 40oz will go on sale at some point. 👍

    • I've heard the lid is really hard to clean, could you share your experiences with cleaning and mold?

  • +10

I know Camelbak is a well known brand and it produces quality products, but asking for over $100 for a bottle is a bit too much. 50% off is somewhat considerable.

    • +3

I paid $50 for my Yeti which was full price and it is so much better quality.

      • +3

The opening on the yeti is too big, if you aren't careful you'll drown your face when having a swig.

      • Yeti is a good brand and produces quality products as well. I believe you.

  • +4

Try a zojirushi, those things aren't the nicest to look at but boy are they nice to use and sip. My favourite bottle for coffee

  • +3

I have one and it's definitely the best one I've had in a long time. Use it for daily commute, fill it with ice water in the morning, still ice in there after refilling late into the night. Cap is magnetic, although that is really just a slight gimmick - when you put the cap on it will magnetise into place, you can leave it on your desk or whatever and it is unlikely to spill. The cap can then be screwed on tight if you need to.

  • +2

    Stays Dry: Sweat-proof insulation

On hot days I've found the lid gets condensation on top because it's plastic

  • Absolute rip-off. And $42 is supposed to be a good price lol.

You can get 2x 1L bottles for $56.89 from Amazon AU for the pair.

I bought them last week, so far so good

    • +4

Those appear to be plastic not stainless steel vacuum insulated.

  • +2

These water bottles are amazing. I use them for everything where I want cold water.

  • +2

Ive had the 1.9l in this and the Yeti for 5 years, still going strong.

PS; the Sistema and Decor are shit. I have 2 of each and they have failed as in do nothing after 6 months.

PSS: the THERMOS food jar. Held ICE Cubes without melting for 12 hrs in a at times 50 degree vehicle.

  • +1

I used my first Camelbak insulated steel bottle for 10 years. I had a few lid changes due to them breaking or perishing. I only changed to the new bottles because they are less bulky, with more internal volume. They are durable and good quality. Also, all the lids (chute, straw sippers, hot cap) are interchangeable as long as the bottle is an Eddy+ design. I use the 600ml one as a thermos with the hot cap and the 1L as my main water bottle. I put ice in mine most days. They last up to two days, depending on the outside temperature.

  • +2

Woolworths have the 600ml for $24 i think and the 1L for $36. I bought the 1L and the cap gets condensation when laying bottle down. I put i large ice balls (i have the LG fridge which makes the large ball ice) and the ice melts within hours. I have a 900ml thermal bottle from aldi which doesnt jave a brand name that i got for $9.50 and this think hold ice for days. I filled both with water and ice and left them in my car on a 40 degree day nd the aldi won easily. I use the camelbak daily though as it looks better.

  • My family and I have been using Oasis insulated 1L and it's only 424 grams for the past 3 years and it has been great. Currently $28.99 at Harris Scarfe.

  • Camelbak and Yeti > everything else.
Also lol at the guy who claimed in the previous Camelbak deal that they didn't come in any bigger sizes. My 1.9L magnetic camelbak would like a word.

    • This is unacceptable. You should organise a zoom meeting.

      • I have. The Camelbak just hung up on him for not knowing anything about water bottle volumes.

    • The 1.9l are no longer availble. I yried to get another a few months back.

      • Ah, bummer. Hope mine lasts forever then!

  • +3

Save yourself some money and get this one:

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/marquee-1-5l-white-insulated-dri…

It's a one hand carry, two hands for drinking (for most people) and the extra size means you can put 300ml of ice in there.

If you question the quality get two. It's still cheaper.

    • There is certainly money to be made out of drink bottles

  • +2

Also on sale $45 at Rebel in Moss/black/navy colours, local stock.

    https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/camelbak-insulated-chute-mag…

  • Paid $30 for 1L in August. Bit expensive for the extra 200ml.

  • I dropped a small ice cube in mine and dinted the bottom lol
PSA: Put liquid before dropping ice cubes in. Or slide them down the side?

Nice bottle though, the finish is nice to touch. But it doesn't fit in the drink holder in the car :"(
