  • PSN rating 2.1 out 5. Bad review on YT.
No preload yet. Should I try this? lol

I mean, free, try it, but I've only heard bad things really on the steam version. A real shame after so long and how much I enjoyed td unlimited 1 / 2.

    • For free it's worth a few hours but it isn't very good, super buggy at launch and continues to have issues.

  • Thanks, I'll enjoy this for what it is. Hopefully it looks better than Crew Motorfest because that was basically unplayable it was so blurry.

But there is no way I'm buying another always online racing game. Also, anybody that thinks this demo period is going to be indicitive of the normal experience is going to be in for a hard lesson when the playerbase reverts to normal and you can't get into any races.

    • I'm downloading it now.

Are free game trials considered deals now?

    Beta test Ibiza for FREE

Nah. It's bad. Like real bad. The demo I saw showed 6 or so models of car and that's all you ever saw. The cities were dead no pedestrians hardly any traffic. Compared to say NFS unbound.

Such a shame this is so bad because I loved TDU in Hawaii

    • Yeah, well that team went on to make Crew Motorfest. So a vastly, vastly superior.game from 2006 have rise to 2 terrible games in 2024.

    I live under a rock.

I thought this was a new Chinese Electric car that they're gonna let us test drive for unlimited kms for those days. 😂

  • Is it just a test drive then?

    • +3

It's a limited test drive for Test Drive Unlimited.

  • I loved TDU 1 and 2, but good god when the demo was available on PC it was in a really bad state and just wasn't fun. I don't know if it's much better now but somehow I doubt it

  • This doesn’t appear to be available as a trial, just full purchase

It's up now, search it on your PS5

  • Is anyone able to do anything? I did the inital qualifying events and the fixed the settings because apparently after driving and winning 3 events decisively using a manual gear box the game decided that I must have a an automatic with all the assist turned to maximum. Then the woman said I qualified to go to Hong Kong Island but… then what? I restarted the game and she said the same thing. So I'm just supposed to wait for some arbitrary time before I can actually leave the starting area and play the game? Or is this the limit of the demo?

The game looks pretty bad. Not unplayably bad like Crew Motorfest, but still pretty aweful. When you are competing with GT7 and Grid Legends there is no excuse to look this terrible. Lazy design and code covered up by overuse of blur and AA.

    • nah you should be able to leave the starting area

i did 2 qualifying bits at the start, then it sent me to the hotel, i buy a car, then the whole map opens up

game still kind of sucks though

      • She said she'd let me know when they were ready to leave. No waypoint, nothing on the map, nothing on the todo list. I've been driving around for way too long and even left the game running a bit. And it's really not pretty enough to be worth exploring. If it was a nice area I wouldn't mind so much.

EDIT: Apparently it's a known issue on PC going back several months and the answer is to contact support and have them fix your save file.

Well, of all the things I thought would happen, that was not one of them. I was never going to buy it, but I thought it would be good for a few hours of entertaingment to at least explore the island. Oh well, back to Peach Beach Splash.

  • This game feels like an upscaled PSP game

    what a shame

i used to like the test drive games, this ain't good

    • Yeah, but the sad fact is a lot of games are like that now.
