Hi all, recently looking to install Solar on my roof, located in south Brissy.

Mainly been looking for the big installers from RACQ/ Origin, prices are around $4-$5k for 6.6kw system.

Wondering if anyone has come across anything cheaper.

You can get cheaper but will it be of good quality? Possibly not.

I doubt RACQ is an installer. They'll just be getting a commission just like Auto Expert John Cadogan does.

Origin will sub-contract to Downer, Service Stream or similar and they will sub-contract several levels down.

I'd suggest you educate yourself on SolarQuotes although even that site has sold out and no longer independent.

  Rather than doing the hard research on finding a quality installer, they think going with RACQ / Origin will give them the peace of mind.
  These mobs all rely on sub-contractors whose primary goal is to finish the job as fast as possible and onto the next.
