Cheap Christmas Lights (Boxing Day?)

Hi all, I went to Bunnings and Spotlight this morning to see if they had any outdoor Christmas lights on clearance but unfortunately everything was still marked at their same prices!

Shop assistants were also clueless as to if anything was going to be further reduced.

Which got me thinking - has anyone got recommendations of cheap / decently priced Christmas lights and when exactly you start shopping for them?

Perhaps if I went in on Christmas Eve I'd have better luck than on Boxing Day? Or do places start selling at good prices around Sept / Oct time?

Coles put their decorations on clearance the day before Halloween and Christmas Day. Plenty string lights in little tubs flew off shelves for cheap among plenty other tat.

Didn’t bother even attempting to go to the shops today, but I do remember last year by the time I got to Bunnings at 10 all the good Xmas stuff had already been snapped up.

Saw some at Coles only $1.75 off.

TBH just go to JB and get a few of these https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/xcd-rgb-festoon-light-9-5… for $9.95 they are great , put them in hedges and trees at my house and all the neighbours out for evening walks have commented that they love the lights

  • I was in Aldi Thornleigh NSW and their box of xmas lights were discounted to $5 from $10. They have plenty there. Probably try your nearest one(s).

  • Bunnings has no reason to mark down Christmas LED string lights as they sell those throughout the year
Perhaps they will markdown speciality items such as Reindeer, Christmas tree shaped LED decorations etc. But Coles, bigw etc would do so as they need to clear the shelves for other things.

  • Saw some string lights on sale at my local Bunnings earlier today.
