Chart topping CPU air cooler that rivals the $269 NH-D15 G2. I got mine from AliExpress earlier this year for more than this and have been very impressed with the performance, even at lower RPMs.

Versus the NH-D15 G2: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/noctua-nh-d15-g2-cpu-cool…

You can save $10-15 going for the Phantom Spirit SE. The major difference between the SE and EVO are the fans.

Thanks OP. Really appreciate the additional info. Snagged one.

    • I'm curious to know how this compares to the Peerless Assassin by the same brand, touted as one of the best air coolers currently, bar none.

      • It's the successor to the Peerless Assassin, so better in every way with the exception of price where they might differ by about $10. If you have the option or just want better performance, always go the Phantom Assassin over the Peerless Assassin.

Quick follow-up. The cooler rocks. CPU temp maxes out at 58 deg c. vs 90 deg c with the stock Ryzen 5 heatsink and fan. Very quiet. Runs under 1000 rpm. Stress tested with AIDA64.

What happened to the ps 120 se or 120 sold by the same seller? I remember it was ~$50 and the performance is pretty much few degrees difference between the ps variants. Though the evo does look better imo, not sure worth ~$20 difference.

    • I have been watching it since before black friday. The price was increased to $63 and went out of stock a few days ago.

The non evo version was $56.90, is there much difference?

Love these coolers - currently have a PS120SE and performance to $ ratio is unbeatable.

  • I feel like it is so heavy.

  • The ps120 se was only ~$50. Still a good deal but about $15 too much imo.

Excellent cooler, I installed one to cool my 9800X3D a couple of weeks ago. Very easy to install and keeps it nice and cool, around 60c while gaming in a Fractal Torrent. Highly recommended at this price.

Solid cooler. I have the Phantom Spirit 120 SE (not Evo) on my 9800X3D. Often see sub-60c temps gaming :)

    • Yeah same here. My 9800x3d sits around 55c in CPU heavy games. PBO set to -20 works wonders for temps without any performance decrease.

Any chance you could link to the chart used to compare? Thanks

Have one, highly recommend. My 9800X3D, stock no pbo, sits around 52c when playing B06. I have gskill memory that is a bit tall that required me to adjust the front fan slightly. Very simple, didn't seem to affect performance.
