Weber Baby Q1000N LP Flame Red $262 (via Price Beat) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys

900

First post, so apologies if any details are missing.

The Good Guys is price beating Appliances Online, but you have to click on the "Pay Less with Price Beat" button on the URL link to get offered the $262.00 price.
Possibly ATL for the Q1000N version.

This pricing is applicable to the Red version of this BBQ only, the Black variant is $308.00.

Could possibly stack with 4% cashback from Cashrewards or Shopback (unfortunately I didn't check this before ordering).

Can use in conjunction with Commbank Yello offer:
Get $20 cashback when you spend $200 or more at The Good Guys (spend by 05 Jan).

    • Is this a targeted offer, couldn’t find it in my offers section.

      • +1

Must be targeted if you can’t see it.

Missed out on the last special on the Weber Baby Q1200N, do you think there will be another one soon?

    • I picked one up, haven't used it yet but also need a table/stand for it.

      • for how much?

        • $299 I think it was on ebay.

    • If you're in NSW, many Weber stores are currently offering a 15% discount. I was able to purchase a cart at this discounted price from the Weber store near Castle Hill HomeCo.

  • Any reviews on this from any ozbargainers?

Also, assuming it won't stack with a $30 off $200 in store only code?

    • +2

Bought one a few weeks ago.
It’s good, still working out all the tricks. Give it ten minutes to heat up and it’s a gem.

Only thing I’ve found is there’s so many additional purchases if you want the ‘full experience’. Different cooktops and etc.

Bought this 4 years ago and it still works flawlessly. I recommend getting a cover if it sits outside

      • +2

I've got one and they are great for camping

    • Just bought one in store with price beat, used the $30 off code which brought it down even further.
Only problem is that I have to wait for stock to arrive.

      • Oh wow so it does stack! Awesome, thank you for sharing!

      • Just confirming the $30 off was the code off a minimum $200 spend that expires on the 31st?

        • +1

          Yep.
I had to go in store for it, showed them the price beat price and then at the register gave them the code for 30$ off.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Picked one up. If anyone knows where to get a solid stand for this at a decent price I'd love to know!

    Also Cashrewards tracked for $11.38.

  • Its ok to go without the thermostat?

    • +3

Yep - no need. I installed an after market temp gauge (drilled a hole in the aluminium lid to install the probe) on the previous Q2000 model thinking I wanted it and haven't referenced it once. Waste of time.

A decent external temp probe is all you need to check internal temps of the meat (and a lot more accurate than the lid thermometer) and follow the pre-heat instructions and times in the guide book and online vids and that's all you need.

      • If you're cooking something that isn't meat though…

    • +2

Saw one of the pics has this channel on the inside of the lid which you use to hold an electronic thermostat probe. Cool little addition if you really have the need to monitor the cooking chamber's temperature.

    • The thermometer on the lid is super useful.

    • +1

You can easily install one yourself if needed, but never found the thermometer to be any useful other than to check it comes up to temperature. Not an issue after preheating for 10mins regardless. Better to have a separate meat probe.

  • This works on gas or charcoal?

I have a Gen 2, still trying to work out if Gen 3 is worth the upgrade.

    • +1

They're not - great BBQs and you don't need to upgrade!

      • They last forever. Only issue is that the shape of the gen 3 is different from the gen 1/2 so many of the accessories are not interchangeable. So just make sure you get the ones that fit your model.

And if the top gets a bit grimy with smoke stains etc. or you just want a change then it's easy to do a deep clean and rinse with a pressure hose, rub down with wet sanding paper and then use high heat spray paint from rustoleum or another supplier in the colour you want. Plenty of vids on youtube to show how. Took me all of a couple of hourse including wait times between coats. Changed my boring titanium to a deep forest green - looks like a brand new bbq.

    • I have had mine for 15 years now, always sitting outdoors exposed to the weather. Still the original enameled cast iron grill plate as well. Such a good bbq. Buy once and enjoy.

    • Not really worth the upgrade as the previous models are great still.

You get the higher lid with the new gen, but unlikely you'll be doing a big roast in the baby and a lot of money spent to upgrade all accessories (not compatible with older generations). Smarter move is to get the older gen accessories on clearance!

  • How portable are these? can you just take it to a picnic area where you are allowed to do barbeques?

    • Very portable. Do it all the time.

      • Thanks

  • No stock anywhere near me

  • +1

This might be a better option, comes with side tables and a temp gauge for $339

Also electronic ignition versus piezo. I don't believe this is deal is available in nsw though.

  • Any deal on the newer Q1200N at the moment?

    • Look at the comment above you

      • Basically WA only.

  • I am buying one for a gift (but the 2000 or 3000 version). Anyone know if they normally do mid year sales? Birthday is later in the year. 🙃 Thanks if you have any info to add.

    • +1

IMO the Black Friday eBay plus deal was the best so far on the newest gen. 20% is good.

  • The ozbargainer in me picked up a free q1200 that needed a clean. Replaced the broken ignition with a piezo from ebay, and its not pretty but cooks beautifully! Is the new funky modern design a better cooking area or heat distribution?

  • is it risky to buy a brand new one from fb marketplace so no receipt so I won't be able to register it for warranty?

    • nah these things last forever and you could probably youtube any sort of fix its not overly complicated. Just high quality

  • Just purchased this after wanting a BBQ for a while, thanks OP.

The side tables are on price beat at $54 as well so got those to go with it. Delivery was only $6, however BBQ not due until 16/1. Will call tomorrow to see why the extended delivery date applies to the BBQ.

Cashrewards tracked at $13.64 with purchase.

  • what do people do for gas bottles? just swap and go?

    • +1

yes pretty much. not many places does filling anymore. wouldn't bother getting a brand new bottle and exchanging it for a crappy old swap and go bottle.

if you dont have a bottle just get any old bottle of gumtree and do a swap and go. they accept all gas bottles even ones in poor shape.

  • Anyone else having trouble finding a video review of this model? Please share a link if you found one, thanks so much
