Good price but iherb has 50,000iu dose gels caps

Sounds like way too much. Google it:

      AI Overview
The recommended daily intake of vitamin D depends on age and other factors, such as sun exposure and risk of deficiency:
Children up to 12 months: 400 international units (IU)
      Adults 19–70 years: 600 IU
Adults 71 years and older: 800 IU
People who get some sun exposure but not enough: At least 600 IU per day, or 800 IU per day if over 70
People who avoid the sun or are at risk of deficiency: 1,000–2,000 IU per day
People with moderate to severe deficiency: 3,000–4,000 IU per day for 6–12 weeks, then 1,000–2,000 IU per day for maintenance
People with dark skin: 10 micrograms per day year-round
Taking more than 10–12.5 micrograms (mcg) or 400–500 IU per day is not necessary and could be harmful. You should only take a higher strength vitamin if your doctor advises it.
A doctor can perform a blood test to check your vitamin D levels.

I think the 600IU recommendations are looking specifically at preventing osteoporosis and not general health. You would struggle to find one person on 10000IUs a day run into vitamin D toxicity issues. Just ensure your magnesium and K2, etc. are balanced.
You can take a 50k dose, but it would likely be prescribed for once a week.

        • +2

Fair enough, the comment about 50k dose was pretty vague, most people talk in RDIs. You'd be better off having more regular smaller doses I would have thought (and get some natural sun).

Either way should get a blood test or consult doctor to see if you need more but agree that 5000IU per day would be pretty harmless.

      • The information is outdated unfortunately a lot of new age doctor are starting see the benefits of 10,000 IU a day 50,000iu a day is what a cancer patient should take because it’s much harder for the body to obsorb Vitamin D with cancer

        • Get a blood test to see if you are deficient first.

          • @G-rig: Yep I was deficient now I am healthy but yeah my doctor did recommend the dr berg multivitamin, because u can’t have just d3 with out mK7 and magnesium.

            • @kungfuman: Yeah you should try and get both. K2 isn't easy to get unless you like kelp and seaweed etc so it's a no brainer.

              • @G-rig: yeah I am on these https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B06WRNG37C/?coliid=I12GMWYD33HV…
I take one daily with some kind of fat eg eggs or meat. it has
                Vitamin D
                Vitamin K (Menaquinone 7)
                Magnesium Citrate
                Zinc sulfate
                Vitamin B6 as well.

it works very well. Never down these pills with water either because that pretty much makes it useless you need to always down it with a food like eggs or meat for it to be obsorbed well.

    • 50,000 is ok as long as u take one every 5 days or once a week I prefer breaking it up to 10,000 IU a day for those that don’t know 10,000 International units is 0.25mg

This is still a better deal (at normal price), when calculated against number of capsules and IU strength:

Got these last time (D3+K2 is the go):

  • I was told to only take D with K. :p

    • +1

      I usually take these drops. $20 for 300x 4000IU doses or 1200x 1000IU doses and have K2.

      • Yeah drops are probably the most likely to be absorbed.

I have got these in the past too. More expensive but double the volume (120 day's worth).

        • Do you take this with juice? I'm not a juice person in the morning. Would it work with water and would it taste horrible?

          • @ganjadeals: NFI just read the label, usually just put a drop or two under tongue, done.

        • The one I linked has 1200 doses of 1000IU, so even if you take 5000IU (5 drops) that comes out to 240 doses.

  • Yeah 4000iu too low for me I take 10,000iu vitimum D daily for months I use Dr bergs 10,000 IU D3 + MK7 + magnesium + zinc https://amzn.asia/d/8YEE9es unfortunately out of stock at the moment but it’s much better for u u feel amazing when u take it correctly
