    Wish it was full size.

    • is full size not a thing anymore?

      • +3

It is the current trend. If space is an issue I see the reason for these, but people with giant desks and tiny keyboards just looks stupid and num pad is useful.

        • -1

I wish they sold more mini keyboards, as a guy who uses pc in the living room

        • Some of us prefer mini keyboards for the ergonomics.

  • Great price, I paid way more.

    • +1

So its really worth rrp $249?

      • +2

Given its rather lackluster feature set even at this price, no.

        • +9

Why are y'all booing me? Am I wrong?

          • No hotswap - even if you don't care about trying other switches out if you want a different feel/sound, if a switch dies you can easily swap it out without replacing the entire board…
          • No wired mode
          • Smaller battery compared to similarly-priced and specced boards (looking at the YK75 off AliExpress)
          • ABS keycaps, meaning they will shine and wear more easily. Also harder to find replacement keycaps for this MX Mini, as Logitech use propiertary stab stems and a non-standard layout. You can really only replace the alphas and not much more. Source

And it's not like Logitech are going to be more reliable than a Chinese board off AliExpress… I've owned and used 2 separate Logitech boards and they both had s**t quality keycaps that faded and shined; they also had double-typing issues that rendered the keyboards completely unusable. If only they were hotswappable…

@CrispyChrispy: you're not wrong, people don't like it when you tell them 250$ for a TKL logitech is highway robbery(get wooting at that price). But shops only sell logi and razer, even corsair and asus is a stretch (overpriced anyways). and not many people in the know post peripheral deals, often the actual good value peripherals don't go on sale but has discount code, I got my yunzii rt75 for $85 USD shipped.

This would be semi-worth it if you can go to local officeworks to get them price matching, if you need a keyboard but can't wait for delivery.
(I read the deal again, honestly 80$ for wireless logi not bad deal)
Otherwise theres hall effect keyboards for decent price now, or silent keyboard (or change switches to silent switches, which you can on most keyboard but not on logi lol), or wireless, BT, or just a straight up better looking keyboard.

          • @CrispyChrispy: I used this for a week and sold it off

          • @CrispyChrispy: Some people like the patina ;)

  • Anyone know how this compares to Keychron K2v2 or Aula F75?

Edit: I've done some research and this keyboard doesn't have a wired mode. Furthermore, I believe it requires software to pair with the Bolt Receiver. This won't work in my particular case.

    • +1

If it's anything like the MX Master mouse, then it should come pre-paired with the included bolt receiver and it only required the software if you want to pair it to additional receivers.

I guess I'll find out if that's the case for the keyboard when mine arrives.

I was originally interested in a couple of keychron models but bluetooth only was a dealbreaker for me, I much prefer the stability of the wireless dongles.

      • I was originally interested in a couple of keychron models but bluetooth only was a dealbreaker for me

Most are tri-mode, no? Wired, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz.

        • Not sure about other models but none of the keychron low profile 75% options have a 2.4ghz mode, just wired or Bluetooth.

          • -1

@Haydos90: Probably could have gone for a Nuphy Air75 or one of their other 75% options then. Those are pretty $$$ though.

Something like this would do the job too if you can find something similar on AliEx.

    • Those are 'custom' and have 'custom' features, if you're not interested and don't care at all about hotswap and gasket mount and foam etc then little reason to go for those over this MX Mini.

But those two boards will sound and feel infinitely better than this keyboard.

    • You can pair with the bolt receiver using a website. I use this keyboard with Android tablets via the bolt receiver plugged in the monitor.

    • Aula F75

I call this one the TikTok meme keyboard because of it's marketing despite it's quite bad engineering (both hardware and software) and the fact that half the sellers I see selling it are running at stupidly high prices compared to cost/other sellers.

The software is terrible and has a half-decent chance of bricking the board too, if it hasn't already spontaneously bricked itself or caught fire. (Or better yet, another vendors software can brick the Aula board too, since they all run the same chip and firmware update protocol, but none of them changed the USB identification. I've seen more than one instance of people accidentally cross-flashing keyboards because of this.)

But hey, people keep memeing it because they see some random TikTok or YouTube video yelling about it being creamy/thocky/marbly sounding or whatever.

      • Is there a particular custom mech keyboard you would recommend? I'm interested in getting one but theres so many damn brands (rainy, nuphy, epomaker, chillkey etc) and they all look like they come out of the same damn factory.

  • Great keyboard with great battery life. However for some reason Windows kept throwing this hissy fit about low battery for like a month before the battery actually died.

  • Thanks OP got one

  • This has ended up an underrated keyboard in the era of other boutique wireless keyboards (air75v2, lofree lite etc).
The reality is that this keyboard has great connectivity, great battery life etc - while the typing experience may be somewhat middling in comparison to others the usefulness of this keyboard is what sets it apart and it is fantastic for a commuting office worker. Have been really happy with mine (the brown switches) and this price is great.

    • the usefulness of this keyboard is what sets it apart

      Could you elaborate?

      • the bits i referred to… its battery lasts for weeks, the wake and connectivity on bluetooth is instant etc.

  • +2

For those not in the know, these switches are loud so I would not recommend for use in open-plan offices where colleagues are likely to be annoyed by the noise (I would recommend the brown or red switches instead)

    • +10

      perfect, hate the co-workers.

      • +1

The noise could also affect the self.

      • Esp the guy next to me. That's why I use blue keys in the office and a variant of red at home.

    • There is something seriously wrong with an office where keyboard sounds are likely to bother coworkers. Like how do you even make a phone call in that setting? Or eat or function as a normal human being?

      • That's the thing; you don't

      • +1

before office PC's bundled keyboard switched to scissors switch like laptop keyboards, full size membrane keyboards were also fairly loud, but the sound they produce were less harsh than the dogshit quality mx blue and browns ripoffs.
there are keyboards with "silent" switches which is much quieter, or buy any hotswappable KB and throw on silent switches. I used outemu silent peaches because they were… cheap, and i needed something to game at night. they weren't so scratchy to be ineffective, and there are more premium options.

on the extreme other end, ipad touchscreen keyboard has virtually zero noise, but yea… i'd not want to type on it all day.

  • Was to give it a try but oos online so…

  • Had the full size clicky version before, nothing special but wireless connectivity is bar none, zero lag switching between paired devices.

Biggest complain is keyboard doesn't talk to mouse to switch channel. Granted, it was never a thing in the past, 10-20 years ago people didn't work on multiple devices simultaneously, so when Logitech launched Unifying receivers in 2009 they never thought of enabling cross peripheral communication.

But when they launched a range of multi device keyboards, such as K480 in 2014, they must be fully aware of the use case. But it was too late to change the Unifying protocol, too many keyboards and mice out in wild.

Then they launched Bolt receiver in 2021, they completely missed their chance to incorporate cross peripheral communication into the protocol. So, in the 2024, they are still relying on a software based device sharing solution (Flow) rather than building it into the hardware.

  • Don't bother with Logitech mech keyboards, my last one lasted just over 2 years. It wouldn't connect via wired connections.

  • Returned it on the first month, some keys didn’t type intermittently, it’s the worst of what a keyboard can do.luckily bought from OW, easy refund.

  • I believe I bought the last one in Bendigo — out of stock. Thanks OP!

    • I believe I bought the second last one in Bendigo
