    This brand is junk. I had one and the lid snapped off the hinge when the lid closed on my hand

    Runs on AA batteries, will be changing batteries at least monthly. Needs to run on 4xDs.

      Nah the hinge on most of these bins is counterbalanced or highly geared. Batteries last about 3-6 months. I ended up splurging for a Simple Human bin.

        So your experience is with simple human? From my limited bin industry knowledge they are a premium brand, not really fair to compare with a no name brand is it? My experience is with one from Kmart way back ($40) that was great until kids dented it badly, D batteries changing every 6 months or so. Then one from amazon ($100 brand was ninestars?) on D batteries, changed batteries twice in 5 years. Bought the Aldi one this year ($80) had to change the AA batteries every 3 weeks. Absolute trash.

    We have a similar foot lever bin we use for recycling. My cat likes to jump up and sit on it. I think she would break a sensor bin.
