Great price for an awesome trilogy

  • Thanks OP

    Anyone who’s played all these

Is this below (Batman Return to Arkham) related directly in events or is it a seperate timeline? (Included is Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman; Arkham City)

Arkham Collection includes Batman Return to Arkham + Arkham Knight, along with all DLCs.

"related directly in events or is it a seperate timeline?" - they are the same games, the difference is Arkham Knight.

      • Thanks for the clarity

    • return to arkham is the PS4/Xbox One remaster versions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, which originally released on PS3/Xbox 360.

Absolutely fantastic games. Well worth the money. Even if you're not into Batman or comics, they just play so well and it's so fun to move around as Batman.

It really makes you feeeeel like batman

      • Dunkey's review was spot on! I personally did not enjoy the games I played in this series.

Does this play ok on PS5? no missing features?

    • +2

Other than being locked at 30fps, the games play fine on PS5. Not aware of missing features. I finished Knight years ago and Asylum recently. Starting City now. Super value at $8.49!

Oh god, wow, 30FPS seriously? Even the first two, which are from consoles two generations older?? That makes no sense.

        • even worse, Asylum and City have worse visuals on PS4 than on PS3. Return to Arkham is the worst way to play these games but unfortunately your only choice on modern consoles. however Knight still looks fantastic almost 10 years later.

Even the first two, which are from consoles two generations older?? That makes no sense.

Makes complete sense, the games are running at capped frame rate, not an uncapped frame rate. Doesn’t matter how much more powerful the PS5 hardware is, the only thing that will increase performance is a patch from the dev’s to uncap the frame rate. Consoles have always been like this.

          • @aja12: It's very easy to do unless they did something stupid like tying physics to framerate, it's really not an unreasonable thing to expect.

            • @MrMcHairyHead: It’s not unreasonable to expect dev’s to patch 10 year old games? Might not be unreasonable but it’s unrealistic.

              • @aja12: I'm not saying patch it now, I'm saying it should have been 60 fps when it was originally ported to PS4.

  • New ATL

It's a great deal but 60fps+ on PC.

  • Thanks always wanted to play this.

It’s a shame they never ported Arkham Origins.

That’s the second best game in the series for me.

It was actually the third game in this series but they’ve just pretended like it doesn’t exist and are now calling 1,2, 4 the trilogy.

    • It was the only one created by a different studio

    • it was made by a different studio with a different cast, and is technically a spin-off. I can understand it not being together with the others but yeah it's a shame you can't play it on modern consoles. also the online achievements can only be obtained via boosting as the servers are shut down

Arkham Asylum would arguably be my favourite game of the PS3/360 era. Perfect story, perfect game play. Played and replayed it to death…. even finished another replay of it (on pc) back in August/September. I can appreciate what City and Knight did to "enhance" the arkham experience…. but for me Asylum was more tighter. The open world kinda turned me off of CIty and Knight. I collected the games on multiple platforms over the years, tempted by the Switch version of the collection too.

If anyone hasn't played them before, PURCHASE THE COLLECTION ASAP.

    • Arkham Asylum was a trendsetter. After it was released, so many games copied its fighting mechanics and style. It did win GOTY. The only bad thing in the game is after you finish many levels, they make you go back out through the labyrinth of vents and chambers. Became a bit tedious. Other than that its as good as a game gets. Everything was told as a mystery and had great meaning.

City and Knight were ok but a bit of a convoluted mess. The world was huge and the thugs are just non stop everywhere for players to fight. Story didn't feel like it was as tight as Asylum. Although gameplay aspects were improved its purpose was missing. Felt more like a few random events thrown together than a cohesive story. Some great, some not so much

      • I found it tedious. Never finished it. But I watched the youtube cutaways and the story was great 😄

  • Thanks OP, these games are great. At this price I'm grabbing them for couch play on the big screen too.
