that's too funny, they did a dmca takedown on usenet for episode 1 pretty quickly…. now they're chucked it up for free.

  • +1

You have the stars wrong - they were in the original series.

    • No they're all back voicing their inner younger selves / monologues.

      • +1

Only Michael C Hall is - no other characters have had the inner monologue.

Thanks, might give it a view.

Weird how hard they try to milk this series though. The spin-offs after the main show were pretty bad, wonder if this will be decent.

Just shows how difficult it is to come up with something original that is successful/popular.

      What's the Dexter's spin-offs I think I missed something

    • +1

I've watched the first few episodes. Feels like classic Dexter, but the different actors put it in a weird place in my head. But that surely will go away after some time.

    • There has been no spin-offs. There has been extra series like this prequel but as its the same story and characters its not a spin off.
New Blood is a sequel series and so will Resurrection but again neither of these are spin offs.

      • That's what I meant. Merry Christmas

    • My wife and I have watched the first three episodes now and enjoying it quite a lot. I only ever watched the first season of the original show, but I'm picking it up easily enough. I'm sure there's tons of easter eggs and references I've missed though.

Crazy how well they've cast the younger characters - Angel and LaGeurta are so similar to the originals and this new Dexter has the mannerisms down well.

    • Agreed it was awesome, and his sisters foul mouth, too funny

    • I wasn't blown away by the first episode of Original Sin, seems like they brushed over his childhood too quickly however the cast is pretty good. The next two new episodes are out and it gets a bit better.

Wonder if any truth to this, another spinoff about the Trinity killer:
      https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/dexter-trinity-killer-sp…

      • They've announced Dexter: Resurrection which is different to this. I suspect that this show will continue as a prequel and Resurrection will be Michael C Hall reprising.

I think they did enough with his childhood since we saw a bit of it in the original series. I'm enjoying it so far (I'm up to date). It's good to see him learn and how he became the bay harbor butcher

        • Yes correct sounds like that how it will work. Doesn't hurt having more back story as we go on.

        • He probably survived the shotgun and back to business

          • @Laziofogna: The first scene of this show (original sin) shows him being taken to a hospital in an ambulance.

    • Yes crazy good. And Deb too seems so much like the original Deb. I had to check wiki its not the same person

    • There is an answer but not fully p.c.

  • +2

Will Deb cry in every episode of this as well?

  • "The uploader has not made this video available in your country"

    • Turn the vpn off mate

      • It was off. I had to turn it on to be able to watch.

        • That’s odd, it is available here in Australia, are you here, right?

          • @Emilimu: It is odd. Yes, I'm in AU. And my google and YouTube region settings are all set to AU.

            • @DontNeedThis: You using Starlink perchance? Starlink has had longstanding and well-documented issues with IP geolocation, and websites will quite often assume the wrong country as a result. Japan is common for me lately.

There’s something about the actor that plays young Dexter that I just can’t like as mush as I try

    • +2

IKR! I had the same issue with Dexter's son.

    • They should have just put the wig back on Michael C. Hall.

    • Give it time. Yes but its hard for anyone to fill Michael C Halls shoes.

    • First episode it was a struggle but I think ep2 onwards once he gets a haircut, he's a pretty good version!

    • Is your name Doakes by chance?

Seen 3 episodes so far and loving it . Can't wait till older Dexter returns and stabs some more hearts.

    • That will be in Resurrection series which starts around Feb

  • Saw the first two episodes and it’s a decent start.
The main actor has some uncanny resemblance to Michael C Hall.

But they’re also trying really hard to replicate the tone and mood of the original, like the intro and the actress playing Deb (feels forced being obnoxious and foul mouthed).

    • F'kasurus lol
I think it's pretty decent the characters.
It's cool Christan Slater is in it, haven't seen him in much for ages.

  • FFS… Just watched the first episode start.. literally first 30 seconds…
