yea, you're better off with a used Leica Q1. And in a few months' time Q2 could be had for only a few hundred more.
Leica M8 is not too far off as well.
um… i highly doubt that
Not sure if it's due to inflation or our Aussie dollar buying ~ us 60 cents.
The original x100 in 2010 can be easily purchased for 1k
Yeah I was just thinking the same. I even have a X100f and I think it was below 1.5k
I bought mine in 2016 secondhand for $458! Insane price move since.
Crazy tik tok trend pricing is what happened
Probably could have sold that original x100 for the same price you bought it in 2022
X100v's were being driven up to $2300-2400
Its not inflation or the exchange rate, the X100 series became trendy and sold out everywhere.

Someone sold a used X100V for $2300 in 2022 lol https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12964455/redir
Crazy pricing given that:
- This model is made in China (previous models were all made in Japan).
- The AUD/JPY rate was around 79 at the time I bought my X100F in July 2019 (it's currently around 97 which means it should be cheaper).
Pricing seems to be driven by supply vs demand (lots of vloggers want one and supply has been very limited).
As for my X100F, RRP in 2019 was $1799. I bought it using an eBay Plus code giving 20% off at that time and Fujifilm were providing a $150 rebate, so I only paid $1,289.20 If you factor in inflation since then that equates to around $1,550 currently. That's a far cry from the current model pricing.
Oh wow did not know Fujifilm setup a factory in china. So they can't place the blame on expensive labour costs in Japan.
Also I wouldn't compare exchange rates with jpy. The Japanese are quite crafty they know their currency has been deflating for over 10 years now and they pretty much all do bus using USD.
Yep, I purchased my X100S for about $1100 back in the day. There's inflation and then there's the price almost tripling. These new one aren't even made in Japan any more. Craziness.
The price is crazy
Fuji tax. Spend more for the same, if not less.
Insane that I picked up a z6iii for the same price. TikTok effect.
seriously? where did you get it for the same price?
With this price I goes to RX1R2
It seems all the fujifilm cameras are extremely expensive now. Has a big price move happened in digital cameras while I was not looking, or was it just inflation?
Fuji has raised (stupidly) their prices across the board, but you can still get some bargains. X-H2 is $2050 after cashback at the moment.
i think next-gen is due soon. for most people XH1 is more than enough, spend the rest on glass OR just get a full frame.
The price increase is primarily due to the added "IQ tax."
Japanese companies will continue to impose high prices on us unless Chinese DJI releases its own camera.
This day will come - the downfall of GOPRO will be in uni material in 2040
it is the only legacy industry that's completely unchallenged. Koreans tried but couldn't compete.
Fingers crossed for DJI, and hopefully a full frame using L-Mount so more people can get on board (cheaper).
Love the colours, but be warned the AF is a bit wild.
Does not matter as long as you look trendy to everyone around you when taking your holiday snaps.
Sharp and well composed photos are so 2022, besides, if you don’t deliberately shake the camera when taking the shot, are you even a photographer?

LOL, that's crazy!!!!
Can't believe I sold my X100V for $1,800….. I didn't check resale prices and I just listed for how much I bought it for retail.
Crazy price for a fixed lens apsc camera!
