Sony ZV-1 with Bonus $100 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card for $849 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

70

This is probably the best deal I’ve seen for this camera. It’s $849 and JB HIFI is giving away a $100 gift card.

This is a great camera I’ve been researching on a portable camera that offers really good quality photos. It’s only missing a flash but external flash can be mounted like a small goddox one for $50

On top of this you can also get a Sony microphone for $99 discounted from $249 if bought with the camera.

  • Sadly, it lacks a Minimum Shutter Speed setting, only auto or exactly set.
Does have a max iso setting though.

The EZ-V10 is also on discount $974.95 with a $150 gift card. Many people like this model because of interchangeable lenses as a good cheap entry into the mirrorless sony e-mount ecosystem.

    Notable Cons for the EZ-V10
    - No EVF (Electronic View Finder)
    - No IBIS (In-Body Image Stabilisation)
    - Not weather sealed
    - Can't use touchscreen to navigate the menu.

    Notable Pros
    - Its very cheap, the comparable photography focused a6400, which is showing its age at this point, is nearly $400 more ($1189 at JB currently)
    - Lighter and more portable.
    - Doesn't overheat while shooting videos
    - USB C

    Obligatory rtings comparison

I was just mentioning that this other camera (ZV-E10) is also on discount and the two are somewhat related

I was soooo tempted by one. But the poor F lens left me underwhelmed. I can get better, but the size….

Those 1" sensor cameras (ZV1, RX100) really did hit a sweet spot for prints up to A3. And at F1.8, even handheld shots at dusk at 1/50 are sharp and clear.

If you're actually using it for vlogging there is also the ZV-1 mk2, at not much more.

It arguably has a better lens for vlogging (18-50) compared to the 24-70 of the mk1.

    Quote from listing:

The perfect camera for every Vlogging style
    Sensor: 35mm full-frame (35.6mm x 23.8mm) CMOS sensor

What the? I thought these were using same sensor size as the rx100 family

it's a listing error and yes same size as rx100 family

      • Thanks for confirming I was not going insane/ had too many early Christmas brunch beers.

    • Yep its an rx100 in a different shell, in a way…

If someone manages to hack the RX firmware onto the ZV for better shutter limits, i'd be all over it.

i currently use an fdr-ax53 and was considering this but i just cant justify it because my fdr-ax53 has body stabilization
