I would buy, still using an 11 Pro, but the overheating stuff concerns me

      • overheating when? or are you talking about the random overheating?

Damn, 2 grand on phone, ouch!

I pay rent 2.3 for month, (profanity) this world

      • -6

If it makes you feel better, i paid $2550 for this phone. Got it at launch over a year ago though.

How many rents is that? Lol

      • +1

Yeah we make a first world wage - more than a lot of countries, but the very basic necessities here are so much it brings us down to third world standards unless your parents started early for you (case for a great many people especially with inheritance).

But other than the USA who make money off their reserve status, it looks like this way for most western countries. NZ, UK and Canada actually sounds like a ghetto to live in now. Listening to the news, those places really sound like they need a revolution to take place.

        • +4

Literally no one needs an iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB tbh.

    • +1

I am an Android user, but I feel like a phone is probably the easiest thing to justify paying more for.

Its something that most people carry on them nearly at all times. You get daily value out of it. Assuming that youre buying a new phone every 2 years or so, even if youre buying a 2K phone, it only comes out to $3 a day.

      • This is exactly the strategy I used to use to sell phones 15 years ago at Telstra to customers haha. The cup of coffee similarity works so well

    • Always that one guy

      • and 17 friends

If you’ve gone through dozens of phones like I have, you’ll fast realise that you get what you pay for. I’ve tried entry level, mid range and flagship models from various brands and I will never go back to the “bang for buck” mentality.

    $2k on a phone a good deal? how?where?when

    • +8

I wouldn't buy it either, but yes, $2k for a $2.7k phone is a good deal.

      • +2

i dont know, I get a new 4070ti PC for $2k mate - someone is ripping someone off and Nvidia is ripping us off as well

      • And yet people bag other deals with silly rrps

      • Sure, if your basis is $2700. But the 1TB version has gone for less than $1800 several times.

        • Sure, but if we compare all deals to all-time-low prices we can hardly post any deals. It is more reasonable to compare it to what everybody else is currently selling it.

      • +1

It makes me sick how much money Apple makes. This is LAST year's phone and is WAY overpriced to begin with

    • its all relative

    • 1TB pro max for 2k brand new is a fantastic deal, sorry brother not everybody buys a $600 xiaomi.

      • +1

It’s always this demographic. Like, please bro, you’re $300 g85 is no comparison.

  • just got refurbished 1TB excellent grade for around $1500 (with heaps of scratches on the screen it really was just fair/good grade…). would it have been worth the wait? :(

    • +6

Think you answered your own question

    • +1

If you are not annoyed by the scratches too much just congratulate yourself for saving $500 and enjoy your phone.

    • +1

there are tempered glass types that come with a liquid to be applied along with tempered glass, the liquid fills up the scratches and makes them pretty much invisible. removing those glasses is hard though.

      • Thanks! I didn’t know. Will definitely look into that.

  • With cloud storage I don't see the important of HDD capacity anymore. $150.00 a year gets you a TB worth of storage with Google or Microsoft.

    • Estimated life of this phone is 6 years, so if you use google or Microsoft purely for photo storage, this saves you 900 dollars during that time, so you do the math and decide.

      • Disclaimer: I don't have any cloud subscription yet

Your statement may be true for a user with only single device.

What happens when the person starts to deal with multiple device needing to access the same content?

Having a cloud share would also means you can instantly have a shared location with your significant other.

    • Whilst it may be good using cloud storage but if you have mum and dad who don’t use cloud storage, this would be option. (Got one 512gb for my mom on the last offer)

      • Absolutely

      • Until they close this loophole, or shall I say bait, and you're doomed

  • +10

More than $2k for a phone that was released in 2023? Bargain.

  • +1

    Thanks bought 5

This or 11 x Motorola G54 from Hardly Normal??

  • +1

    Lol…

  • +1

I don't understand why anyone would get the 15 Pro Max when the 16 Pro Max is already out? It comes with a super innovative and shiny new Camera haptic side not a button thing?

    • +1

800 cheaper and not much different. 15 pro max should last for another 5 years+

  • +1

wow! 900 cheaper than 1 year ago!

    • really holds the VALUE LOL

    • But also consider the fact that this won't ever sell at $2k on FB Marketplace.
