Hey all, looking to get our Kia Cerato tinted as it gets unbearably hot in the summer…
Anyone recently done it in Melbourne and can recommend a company?
Not looking to spend a crazy amount, just would like a decent tint…
Thanks so much!

No but it does have more heat rejection than standard glass if you get metallic or ceramic based tints.
It will make it slightly less hot but OP's post suggests that they are under the impression that it will make a significant difference using cheap arse tint.
Makes a big difference. Most tint shops will demonstrate how effective it is with a rigged up heat lamp
@Brick Tamland: The expensive stuff does. The cheap arse stuff, hardly.
i got mine done at https://tintdistrict.com/ - can say the did a good job were not the cheapest i could find but someone told me they did a good job
but depends on where in Melbourne you live - there is always tintacar which is probably the most expensive but they are fairly realiable and convenient
Yep, can vouch for TintDistrict. Had my Prado done there and he did a very good job. Worked out to be cheaper than TintMyCar with mine.
Sams Window tinting in Airport West. Highly recommend.
I recommend Sam's window tinting too.I had 3 cars done from him.
You are looking for $400s for ceramic tint. I did mine in outer south east, using cancer council approve tint
cancer council approve tint
Motor One?
any local franchise with a decent google review. Tint a car etc. Don't overthink things, it's just a tint and most come with lifetime warranty.
Happy Tint is good
Thanks everyone for your comments!
Going to go with the ceramic offering from Happy Tint, seems to be the best value for money for a good tint
Is that the top product and what is the cost?
Yup, they offered me 2 options, this is the higher end at $450
I got some prices from Tint a Car that they had on the counter. $495/$595/$795 for a sedan. Seemed a bit pricey. They seemed busy before Christmas, so I was waiting for the New Year.
@Baysew: Yup got that quote too… But I am planning to go with Happy Tint
Tint isn't some magic plastic that stops your car from getting hot.
