Kärcher HD 4/8 Classic Pressure Washer $349 Delivered (RRP $591) @ Kärcher Australia

90

For the Karcher die-hard fans looking for something different from the usual yellow and black Home Series…

It’s more than enough for washing my car and odd jobs around the house. I use a 15m Uberflex pressure hose, and the pressure feels similar to my k4. The GPM (or LPM) hasn’t been an issue for me either.

I’ve mounted this as a 2nd unit in my backyard, and it works a treat. The noise during operation is typical of any entry level Karcher—guaranteed to wake the neighbours!

  • I've never understood using pressure washers on the car. What benefit does it provide that a normal hose doesn't?

      Pressure

    • the speed you can clean wheel rims, and bee poo

      • +1

Ahh didn't consider rims - my car doesn't even have alloys. For anything stuck on, I can't think of worse way to deal with it than blasting with a high pressure gun.

I've only ever used the hose for rinsing off the suds - anything else is done by hand.

        • And how do you apply those suds? What is your washing process?

        • If your car doesn’t even have alloys, why are you so pedantic about doing everything by hand and no using pressure?

If your car is meh (nothing wrong with that) all the more reason to not be so anal about the cleaning/washing process and embrace not having to care so much imo.

Have you ever tried to wash your car with a pressure washer? You would not ask this question if you did.

      • Of course I have, hence the question. I still don't see why you'd risk taking paint off for something that can be cleaned with a sponge. I'm genuinely curious if I should change my method but people seem keener on having a go.

        • +1

the fact that youd use a sponge says that you shouldn't be commenting on how to clean a car.

          risk taking paint off

There is no risk of "taking paint off" with any kind of entry level pressure washer like this one.

    • +1

For me, uses less water and gets the job done quicker. Greater reach as well.

  • My only interest is in pressure washer gardening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkDS9OGq_r0

    • This is a great idea!

    • Consider my eyes opened…. I am wondering though, is the grass actually cut or is it just pushed down.

Also what psi is he pumping to do that

    • This is genuinely one of the dumbest things ever, even considering he's a yank :-)

  • +1

My Karcher K4 Compact has way better PSI. The flow rate is slightly better too

  • Plastic or brass pump?
