Where are they made?
In all fairness, I did purchase one of these wallets a few years ago and it has stood the test of time. Very good quality and I would purchase again.
Odd that these guys are smashed for advertising but Ozbargain favourite coffee roaster posts the same ~$33 deal every second week and everyone froths over them…
Coffee has a commodity market price against which the quality of a deal can be compared. It also goes stale quickly so the frequency of a discount is more welcome.
Rando company offering minor sale on goods not readily compared is much less appealing.
Also, coffee companies that only offer modest discounts do get roasted in the comments.
Terrible comparison. Coffee is a consumable. Monthly refill is considered normal given some people drink multiple cups a day.

The product and consumable nature of the product in question is irrelevant. The point is that offering the same discount every 2 weeks is essentially resetting the real price to that discounted price, thereby negating any discount. It's the exact same advertising behaviour which seems fine (and even praised) for one store yet another store is attacked for it.
I think if you pay closer attention you'll find that it's on a rotating selection of coffees so if you like and want to keep drinking a particular coffee you'll either have to pay full price or buy in bulk on discount week.
And again, it matters when a commodity product is discounted steeply because the rest of the market isn't doing half off anything every few weeks.

To be perfectly honest, the name of this company is just baffling and is all I think of when considering buying their products. What on earth were they thinking of? Is it the full name of the owner? Does it mean something in a foreign language?
A quick Google search would've told you that Karakoram is a mountain range… and K2 is a bigass mountain in said range.

This community feedback is what makes OzB great. Otherwise it would just be crappy ads. There has to be policing of genuine bargains to make this site effective and not just a useless advertising pit. Did you ever think about that?
What makes it a genuine bargain tho? This is subjective.
There are people who commented stating that they've bought the wallet a few years ago, it is good quality, and they would buy again. While others are spamming that it is advertising. That is how sale works, you advertise that you are having a sale and people who are interested will come in and take a look. Other people who are not looking to buy a wallet or think it is too expensive can just keep scrolling.

You will never see an investment of effort that matches those that can't be wrong having to face the fact they might have been wrong.
The amount of time and energy they'll put into insisting their snap-decision couldn't possibly have been misguided, versus simply learning new things, has been boggling my mind for 30 plus years. And it's not a small fraction of the population.

What it here is more like going to your favorite library to read some news and maybe a few of the latest catalogues from stores you like, and at the front door there is a guy getting in your face to do piano lessons. Very expensive piano lessons. So you say to them, "no thanks, You're too expensive. I can take piano lessons elsewhere for a lot cheaper" then the guy starts yelling at you for even having the gall to call out his prices while simultaneously threatening to sue you because you take food off his table… All while some greasy looking weirdo clown in a dribble bib that says "Strikeforce: Gedankenpolizei" stands there and says "Yeah, you have no right to tell him his prices are too high. If you'se dont like his prices, you'se should just jog on!"
The best part of your commentary is that we can apply the same "logic" to your comment… "If you'se dont like seeing negative votes and comments, then you'se just need to jog on"
You and your ilk in the Voting and Comment Police Volunteer unit are the sole reason why we need to look at reforming how people are able to vote on deals. We get so many shit deals here and so much spam now because people are reluctant to downvote anything because they are required to leave a message and be at the wrath of the clowns in the Voting and Comment Volunteer strike force.

wallet isn't really good quality at all, ordered one earlier this year and returned it. they also make it really hard to return - take days to reply to your return request

Identical item telling me these are just punched out in China and sold on Alibaba/Express and OP paid a few $$'s extras for Logo embossing. These and very similar "slight" alterations to this wallet are available all over Alibaba with a starting price of around $2 up to around $8 with minimum order quantities from 5~10.
$69 ("sale" price) "Sublime" wallet … vs $55 (regular price) "Freo" wallet (+8.99 postage, $63.99 total.)
And to think I would have "jogged on" if it wasn't for the "Comment and Voting Volunteer Police unit" making an appearance and giving me a reason to go looking for a "better deal".
Actually surprised that this company just rebrands generic wallets, I thought they just tried to copy Bellroy wallets but at least made their own stuff. Myer sells that Freo branded generic one for only $49 too in both that blue colourway and an identical brown colourway to the krakatoa brand one, this sale is very lousy,

From what I can see the Sublime is full-grain leather and the "Freo" is PU (plastic).
I would think that little bit extra is reasonable when going to full leather.
Not really a meaningful discount if you post about it every month.
