All time low for these cast-iron pots! Regular price seems to be $80ish for the 6L and $45 for the 1.9L, so nearly half price.

A full $15 less than the previous deal which was fairly popular.

I have never bought these pots before so can't comment on them, but we have an Amazon Basics pan and its been perfect. Solid metal, so not really much to complain about quality wise.

Very keen to see if anyone on here can vouch for the quality. I can't overlook the mixed reviews specifically for the 6.6L (As that's the one I'd want)

All of the negative reviews seem to be rust related. FWIW we've not had any rust issues with our cast-iron pan from them. A lot of the reviews seem to be from people who don't understand how to look after cast-iron products, although there are a few exceptions.

    • You can automatically discount any review under cast iron or carbon steel cookware that complains about it rusting. If anything, rusting complaints are how you know it's the real deal and not mislabeled non-stick (there is a ton of non-stick cookware under the wrong material sections in Amazon, likely because they use carbon steel beneath the non-stick coating)(there is also seasoned carbon steel and cast iron in the non-stick section that use their seasoning as a justification for being in the non-stick section)

  • Even the very expensive french ones require to be dried carefully after washing to avoid rust. I have a cheap one from Kmart, I assume similar to this, and never had a problem in 15 years.

  • How much lead is in it?

      Less than Lindt dark chocolate

  • What do you cook in these? I used a cast iron skillet for frying stuff or pancakes and enameled cast iron for pasta and pasta sauces. Tomato based sauces are no good for raw cast iron so really don't know why this is better than enamelled cast iron?

    • I’m planning to use it for baking, but i get your concern. Leaving liquids in this is probably a bad idea. That said, for short term meal prep i can’t see it being a big issue to me.

      • Cooking liquids over a period of time would leech a lot of the metallic flavour I'd assume? Iron is generally safe though given its something that we get from red meat anyway but the flavour profile might be affected?

  • I hate these Amazon deals. Why is there no delivery price ever mentioned? Why is that allowed? I usually end up ignoring them due to no delivery price mentioned. On average 2 or 3 worthwhile deals come up on ozbargain per year. So prime is not an option. How much is the delivery for this deal?
