Dashcam Keeps Coming Loose Tape/Glue?

my navman dashcam keep dropping of my windscreen on hot days. The part which is meant to be sticky, isn't anymore. Can anyone recommend me a double sided tape brand or alternative solution?

3M VHB, can be purchased by the piece $3.60 via eBay, trim to size and keep the offcut for other jobs. Likely the same adhesive as on your OEM mount.

Yep, came here to say the same thing. I second 3M VHB tape. It’s what we use at work for securing dash cams and body trim pieces.

Biggest secret to make sure it sticks really well is clean both the mounting area and the mount itself with Isopropyl Alcohol and heat the tape up a little bit with a hair dryer before you stick it to the windscreen.

Problem is Australias harsh sun and temperatures. If you can, try park in the shade as much as possible

Unfortunately depending on the model dashcam you have, the weight can be too heavy and fall off with help of the sun melting/weakening the adhesive. I recommend a barrel style dashcam as they are often lighter in weight and have a decent adhesive surface area. I have never had a problem with my Blackvue although I often park undercover (out of the sun)

Reminds me of Steve Jobs telling people how to hold their iphone 4s.

Take no sh!t from that cam.

  • Is it a suction cup mount? I have found that when the windscreen needs a clean, it loses its grip. So give it a good clean and then remount.

nah, it's a plate with some sticky goop on it.

      • Ah okay. Then get some 3M tape.

  • Don’t forget to let the glue cure a bit overnight before hanging the camera from it! Just stick the mount and attach the camera tomorrow

  • Mine did the same so i've bought these as a replacement
