It's when you don't call someone back or answer their messages.
lets be serious, its a presence sensor, it obviously detects presence of ghosts
I was about to ask.. do you call Scooby Doo or Peter Venkman if a ghost is detected?
@CTFlashZ: I think for $127 it should call them automatically
now you are roasting!
If it detects ghosting you can use the proton pack addon (sold separately) to remove the ghosting.
Mixed amazon reviews :/
My naughty kids have no need for this, I've already told them Santa isn't coming this year.
This didn't work as well as I'd hoped
The problem with these microwave sensors that can annoy people who are unaware is it will see through walls. Sometimes creative placement is called for.
Got a couple of these for testing. They work 'okay' with google. As google home is the weakest link. Often automations dont start for one reason or another.
However I also have both aqara FP1e and FP2 under smartthings and they work brilliantly.
edge drivers available for both. there is a timeout error which is fixed on the FP 2 on edge driver.
in terms of presence detection i think FP2's separate zones is a great idea but implementation can be troublesome. If I had my time again I would pair IR sensors with these presence for off only. Currently have a FP1e as lights off and a aeotec multisensor as lights on this works brilliantly 100% rock solid.
Got SmartThings myself, could you elaborate a bit on your challenges and approaches to useful integration, please?
5 of these - https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007605874437.html?spm=a2g… - is still cheaper :-)
Do those integrate with SmartThings?
Yes they integrate with ST.
Not arguing but curious - this and that are radars, what does the FP2 do which mine does not?
@XeKToReX they’re not that different - they’re both mmWave sensors. Just the Aqara probably has some extra features in it like zones & multi-person detect.
Yeah I read it wrong, my bad!
Don't… these ZG-205Z/A ones are hit and miss. They can respond slowly or sometimes not at all.
Spend a little bit more and get this.

They should register in Z2MQTT as TY_24G_Sensor_V2
Would SmartThings pick them up using ZigBee?
Ideally some local driver integration.
You’d need to check the docs for the given model.. I only use Z2M and ZHA
@Commodore64: What would I be looking for, please?
@MerlinKlendatu: List of supported devices.
Unfortunately smart things isn’t covered by this repository:
https://zigbee.blakadder.com/Tuya_ZG-205Z-A.html
what's the functional difference between fp1 & 2?
Look up some reviews - here’s a good one:
https://smarthomescene.com/reviews/aqara-fp2-human-presence-…
The comparison is half way down
Everything Presence sensor is cheaper and you can choose the appropriate mmWave sensor for the room you are going to place it in.
Wonder why you got negged for pointing out Lewis's EP sensor. Certainly worth looking at for those that don’t know about them.
There is a review comparing both here
Somehow I just wish this mmWave presence sensor runs on battery… so that there is no need to have that 'ugly' cable running into it…
not having to replace a battery has its charm though. Unlike door sensors, these are easier to find a place which is easy enough to wire to a power source.
Yea true, each has its own merits
These are available. I got a ZigBee one from Ali, ~$30, that runs on 2 AAA batteries. It lasted around 4 months on a charge in a high movement area.
@Shon would you please share the link? thanks!
@BigLeviathan https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006745397660.html think it was this one.
@Shon: @Shon thank you, appreciate it!
Up to $157 now :(
It's back to $127. And also available at this price at Officerworks.
What's ghosting?
I bought one from officeworks yesterday too!
