BTA = Beat The Average
$0.01 -> $0.99 = No Steam Keys (Downloadable game only)
$1.00 -> BTA-$0.01 = Non-BTA = (Steam keys for all non-BTA games)
BTA onwards = (Steam Keys for all games)?

Or should i use kickstarter's "Incldue all above rewards"? :p

Snapshot ($10)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/204220/

Snapshot is the tale of a lone robot lost in an abandoned world. Armed with only his trusty camera, Pic sets forth on his great adventure. A camera might not seem like enough for a puzzle platforming adventure, but this camera is different from most: It has the ability to capture and remove from the world the very objects that it photographs. Not only that, but it can also use its powers to paste the photos it took back into the environment! Everything that the camera captures is perfectly preserved, and when the photos are restored the objects are restored with it. On top of all of that, this amazing camera can also rotate the photos before they're pasted. Take a picture of an incoming fireball, rotate it and paste it to send it flying into a wall of heavy boxes to knock it out of the way. See what kind of crazy things can happen to Pic with his awesome (and probably magical) camera during the adventure of his life!

The Binding of Isaac + Wrath of the Lamb DLC ($5 + $3)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/113200/

When Isaac’s mother starts hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith, Isaac escapes into the basement facing droves of deranged enemies, lost brothers and sisters, his fears, and eventually his mother.

The Binding of Isaac is a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements. Following Isaac on his journey players will find bizarre treasures that change Isaac’s form giving him super human abilities and enabling him to fight off droves of mysterious creatures, discover secrets and fight his way to safety.

Closure ($10)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/72000/

In the dark and mysterious world of Closure, only what you see exists. Manipulate lights to phase objects in and out of reality in this multiple-award-winning puzzle game. Play as a strange spider-like demon who explores the stories of three human characters through beautiful, eerie environments such as a decrepit factory, a murky forest, an abandoned carnival, and the strange, surreal realm that connects them together.

Indie Game: The Movie ($10)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/207080/

Follow the creation of the games Super Meat Boy, Braid and FEZ through this Sundance award-winning feature documentary. Critic’s Pick of the New York Times and declared a “Must See” by Ain’t It Cool News. Watch the full theatrical cut in 1080p HD.

After almost two years of painstaking work, designer Edmund McMillen and programmer Tommy Refenes await the release of their first major game for Xbox, Super Meat Boy—the adventures of a skinless boy in search of his girlfriend, who is made of bandages. At PAX, a major video-game expo, developer Phil Fish unveils his highly anticipated, four-years-in-the-making FEZ. Jonathan Blow considers beginning a new game after creating Braid, one of the highest-rated games of all time.

First-time filmmaking duo Lisanne Pajot and James Swirsky capture the emotional journey of these developers as they sacrifice money, health and sanity to realize their lifelong dreams of sharing their games with the world. Four developers, three games, and one ultimate goal— to express oneself through a video game.

Shank 2* ($10)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/102840/

The fan-favorite 2D brawler is back as ex-mob hit man Shank returns to action in Shank 2. With those closest to him under attack, Shank is once again forced on the offensive. Now he must put his trusty arsenal of handguns, shotguns, automatic weapons, chainsaws, machetes, grenades, plus all-new weaponry and moves to use in order to protect those close to him. The original game set a new standard for its visual style and Shank 2 raises the bar. Shank 2 expands on the original game’s amazing combat system to redefine the 2D side-scrolling brawler.

BTA: Dungeon Defenders + DLC (Maybe $50?)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/65800/

Dungeon Defenders is a Tower Defense Action-RPG where you must save the land of Etheria from an Ancient Evil! Create a hero from one of four distinct classes to fight back wave after wave of enemies by summoning defenses and directly participating in the action-packed combat!

Customize and level your character, forge equipment, gather loot, collect pets and more! Take your hero through multiple difficulty modes and challenge/survival missions to earn more experience & even better treasure. Join your friends with 4-player online and local (splitscreen) co-op to plan your strategies together or compete in PvP Deathmatch.

BTA: Legend of Grimrock ($15)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/207170/

Legend of Grimrock is a dungeon crawling role playing game with an oldschool heart but a modern execution. A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exiling them to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to their captors, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations long perished now. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level.

The game brings back the oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords could be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock?

BTA: The Basement Collection ($2) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/214790/

BTA: Cave Story+ ($5) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/200900/

Arguably the most well-known indie game of all time, Cave Story features a completely original storyline wrapped with personality, mystery and hours of fast-paced fun. Cave Story is an action-adventure game from the critically acclaimed independent designer, Daisuke Amaya—or Pixel to his fans. Overflowing with unmatched charm and character, Cave Story takes you into a rare world where a curious race of innocent rabbit-like creatures, called Mimigas, run free.

You wake up in a dark cave with no memory of who you are, where you came from or why you're in such a place. Uncovering Mimiga Village you discover that the once-carefree Mimigas are in danger at the hands of a maniacal scientist. The Mimigas’ only hope rest squarely on the shoulders of a quiet, amnesiac boy who can't remember his own name.

Run, jump, shoot, fly and explore your way through a massive action-adventure reminiscent of classic 8- and 16-bit games. Take control and learn the origins of this world’s power, stop the delusional villain and save the Mimiga!

  • Attempting to buy this bundle…

  • excellent, well worth it, thanks OP. i wonder what other games will unlock over the course of the sale…

    • Good question?

Guess i'll have to update this thread over the next 2 weeks…?

      • guess so, for maximum accuracy (and upvotes). might be worth expanding the BTA acronym, not everyone knows how these bundles work. otherwise, great work and informative post.

        • Is that good enough or do you want to write your own or fix mine? :p

        • haha looks great, i wasn't criticising, just helping you hone your art!

        • +1

Don't worry, we both know what BTA is, but some of the viewers might not? :p

        • +1

I didn't, even though I'm familiar with how Humble Bundle (and the pay above the average bonus) works!
I assumed they were "sequels" to a game titled BTA ie Before the Aftermath (which is an awesome band by the way… check them out on Unearthed)

  • +2

They should pretty much just have a subscription for them, every time they come out I will get it. Good to see this business model doing so well!

And Indie Game: The Movie is a great watch!

    • You can get email updates if you've signed up for an account - that's how I found out :)

  • +3

Finally all steam keys are seperate

    • -2

They usually are seperate, I think it was only the THQ bundle which had a single key

      • +6

No, they're usually 1 key for all non-BTA games, another key for BTA and another key for any extra-BTA games…?

        • -2

          http://imgur.com/cWvfw

I log into my humble bundle account and see this.
Let me assure you that they are not all one key.

        • +1

He wasn't saying this deal didn't have separate keys, it's just that they're usually not separate.

        • I know, but that screenshot is from a previous bundle, hence my original comment.

        • Well the first 6 indie bundles had single keys, as well as the first 3 android bundles, plus all the other bundles that came during those times (frozen byte, voxatron and whatever else), so you still can't say they're usually separate.

  • Worth it alone for Legend of Grimrock, that game is a time sink….!!

    • +4

I bought both of the BTA games at full price on release and I've hardly played either. The Binding of Isaac however I've played craploads. Certainly worth it for that (especially given it includes the DLC).

  • +6

    Oh, more games.
Don't want them but don't want to miss out either because I like to hoard stuff incase I want to play them when im old. I'm sure I have a spare cent around somewhere.

    • +3

      Same…

But i need to find time to play them…

      • +this times eleventy billion! :S

        • Bought them for the soundtrack… ;)

  • edited

  • Great bundle :D Shame I already have Dungun Defenders but still great for the rest :D

  • Bought, thanks OP, looks like a great Christmas bundle

  • Already owning the two unlock games, which are good, but none of the rest. It seems weird to steal beat the average, I did, but now I have two keys I don't need. I'll probably drop them on a friend.

  • +2

worth it alone for binding of isaac
brutal game but played the hell out of it
wish they'd come with individual steam keys but then they'd have to charge more probably
edit: oh very nice they are individual steam keys

    • I preferred them when they came as a bundle, entering that many steam keys took like 5mins since Steam freezes up for 30 or so secs while entering a key. I guess since they're giving separate keys they allow gifting of individual keys?

    • +10

There's always at least one whenever a Humble Bundle is posted…

      • +3

I always pay over the average for the extra games, I do feel guilty because I know in the end its the developer/charities who miss out, but chances are I'll never actually play these games.

Why do they start the price so low?

        • +1

I know of people who often buy several bundles for a dollar or two just in case they have a LAN or something and their friends don't have the games, and sometimes even I've spent less than the average because I've had most of the games and whatever was left wasn't worth $5+ to me, but I figured they're better off with some money rather than none.

My issue is with people who spend only a dollar just because they can, and then brag about it on forums.

        • I bought the THQ one and I even felt bad paying only like $5.67 (whatever it was to get all the games including the over the average ones). Sure it was for my benefit, but I felt bad paying so little for so many games!

        • -5

Funny, when most people here (anyway) capable to pirate the game easily but clearly disregarded.

But hey, all i do just posted my honest thought here on a bargain forum and got slammed.
i guess the joke was on me.

at least a buck still contributing to their cause, better than nothing.

        • +5

Piracy is illegal, choosing not to do an illegal activity should not earn you praise.

Honest thoughts does not equal good thoughts.

The companies have costs associated with every game they sell and then deliver, does a $1 cover those costs? Unless you choose not to activate and not to download a game, I don't think it is better than nothing.

I don't begrudge you paying $1, but don't think that you've been slammed for no good reason.

        • +13

I do find the collective 'ethics' of a place like this strange. To actually 'pay what you want' in such a sale is often seen as unacceptable, yet exploiting poorly worded sales or honest mistakes, and demanding unreasonable price matches is often praised.

        • +3

In my defense, there is many past so-called "bargains" by exploiting pricing mistakes was deemed as a legit and often praised, as Bruce mentioned above - Was the amount of price tag you paid cover the cost of any companies associated with the game they sell & deliver? (eg. - recent: Farcry complete (1,2,3) for 13, EA Origin faults)

While I'm not sure how many noble hearted bargainers who actually pay more than average, I'm sure there is plenty who pay much less or the same as me, but didn't have rights to voice their opinions here, because they pretty much will be slammed like me.

Yes, I agree i'm slammed for a good reason.
But it's selfish to judge anyone who legitimately done the same business as you are.
          I'm done here.

          No offense taken.

        • +2

As I said before, there are legitimate reasons for not paying a lot for the bundle, which is why it's priced as such. I only take issue with it when people start posting on forums basically bragging about how they can get the games by paying practically nothing.

        • I must confess, I paid $1.00. I already had Dungeon Defenders, and the other BTA game didnt appeal to me.

The whole point of the Humble Bundle is that I probably wouldnt normally have bought any of those other games otherwise. They only got a dollar from me, but it was a dollar that they otherwise wouldn't have come by. They'd probably rather have my dollar than not have it, all things considered.

        • +1

The way I see it, I pay around $10 for lunch these days. The least I can do is pay a little more than that for such quality entertainment, even though it does lack the same nutrition.

    • +3

The incentive system is just not there. Selfishness (ie rationality) always wins out over generosity - people would rather maximise their own consumer surplus.

They should hold a raffle or something at the end where the number of tickets you get will vary depending on the price you pay. That or do staggered bundles like indiebundle.

Regardless, I bit the bullet on this one. Great deal!

      • The extra incentive will be the not yet announced games that always comes - kinda like an additional (or more) mystery game/s if you paid more than the average price

        • If you buy the bundle before those games are released, you get them anyway, even if you didn't pay above the average at the time.

        • Really? I bought the last one and they released DoW a few days after I'd already paid and I don't believe it's in my steam account.

        • You have to go back to the bundle page. You only get it if you paid above the average.

        • "You only get it if you paid above the average" that's not true. As above, if you bought before it was released, you will have access to it, regardless of the amount paid. Only if you buy after it's released must you pay above the average.

        • Sorry I had assumed as it was advertised as for those who paid above.

        • So I should go check my steam account again and make sure? Not that I really care if I did or didn't get it, just curious that's all.

        • +1

          Not steam, humble bundle.

  • +1

Grabbed it! Cool bundle, I wanted to see the Indie Game Movie eventually!

  • +1

Worth it for Binding Of Isaac alone, played a fair bit of it and haven't yet come close to completing it.

    So much fun.

Been wanting to watch the Indie Game movie for a while too.

  • +2

+1 for the amount of detail in the description alone, thanks NGPriest.

    • Agreed. An excellent compliation of writeups on these Humble Bundle games (and movie).

Also, nice to see individual steam prices there too. Interesting that the Humble Bundle page claims that it's $140 worth, but then again, they are trying to spruik their collection.

Lastly, a great collection of games! Humble Bundle, you've done it again. There goes more of my life. Not that I'm complaining too much.

  • +3

I picked up The Binding of Isaac on impulse during Steam's Summer sales and out of all the games I got from the sale (like over 25) it ended up being the one I spent the most time on. It's such a great (but really messed up) game!

It's really addictive but it's also hard. I nearly gave up on it but the more you play, the more you unlock and the better the game gets.

Indie Game: The Movie is a great watch for fans of games and it'll give you a nice new perspective on things. It made me appreciate the featured games a bit more (while also simultaneously making me appreciate one of them less).

I haven't played the others so I can't comment on them but I've heard good things about them!

  • +2

Binding of Isaac + Wrath of Lamb is worth more than $1.
Dungeon Defenders + DLC is worth more than the current BTA.
This is a good bargain. Do it.

  • This is a really good pack, first one where I didnt have a single game. And great value!

  • +1

Binding of Isaac is god tier.

Haven't check my bundle yet, but if they give you a steam code for both isaac and the dlc, do not activate the dlc straight away, as you cannot choose between them.

Beat the game a thousand times, activate the dlc and repeat.

    • They give only one code for both the game and the DLC unfortunately.

I bought this a few months ago and missed the memo that I should buy them separate. It's brutally hard and I haven't come close to beating it but it's still so fun.

  • Updated! :D

  • A little bit gutted that the steam keys don't all work for Linux platform. Shank 2 is downloading even though it's downloading the Windows version of the game WTF! If I'd known that I would have gifted all the steam keys and downloaded the DRM free versions… wait that's not legal is it? scrap that.
