Depends on the child. These are targeted to sensory/autistic children who may find these useful (depending on the individual). You would be amazed how a simple toy like this can be loved by some children.
Yes there are some kids that will love these things, which is great, but I agree that generally for most it be junk. Even OP called it a gift for the kids you don't like!
These will be cast aside and forgotten about within 2 minutes, adding to the mass of crap that parents have to deal with (straight to landfill).
Small plastics add up, but let’s not lose the bigger picture. One corporate event with useless freebies and mountains of waste, probably outweighs your entire lifetime footprint. At least this little toy might bring joy or calm to someone who needs it.
@dmac: I clearly said that it might be good for some kids who benefit from sensory toys.
My point was that much more often it's stuff like this that gets discarded by kids instantly and accumulates around the house which drives parents crazy. Party bags these days tend to be full of these because they're cheap.
Yes there is also the downside of being plastic landfill but that was an aside.
@werdplaya58: Everything you buy kids will end up in landfill eventually. Maybe we need a plastic tax?
@dmac: Again, you're the one fixated on the landfill issue, not me. If it's a toy that will get decent use then I don't care honestly.
Children who famously don't like surprises
Whilst a couple of my kids want to give these to their brother and sister for Xmas, let's be honest… It's $3 worth of rubber landfill.
Although you could do a lot worse with your $3, and there may be the odd child out there that actually continues to play with the products (for as long as they last), most of these will be played with for a few minutes at a time, a couple of times a year. It's the sort of cr@p that gets left lying around the house that parents crack the $#!t$ with. And in 12 months time (at best), we'll be secretly throwing them in the bin.
We're trying to make a concerted effort in avoiding this stuff now. Not because we're out to save the planet, but because of the sheer volume of items that kids have nowadays.oh its for kids. The title seems a bit misleading!
Sensory Toy Box… not Sensual Toy Box. ;)
What shit just received the package it is as big as Easter egg
