Gorilla Carts Collapsible Folding Outdoor Utility Wagon $99 (Was $152) + $15/$25 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Mitre 10

400

Been waiting for this one for ages. TO date, I've bought one from Supercheap Auto, rebel and ALDI, and when the handle is welded to the cart, it doesn't seem to last more than a year. These are the only ones that seem to have consistently good reviews. Also, it collapses to a pretty small frame which is good for storage and transport. They are usually $150 and often discounted to half price. But this is the best I can do for now, and I need one for Summer. Description Below:

Gorilla Carts Collapsible Folding Utility Wagon is made with high-quality sport fabric that is durable, easy to clean, and long-lasting, while also having flat-free 7" tires with PVC treads, ensuring it is built tough and can handle the toughest jobs. It features an oversized 91cm x 53cm x 38cm bed that provides twice the capacity of comparable wagons with comfort handle, an upgraded braking system and folds away easily for storage and transport. It has expandable sides that are perfect for extra chairs, umbrellas, and additional storage. It also has built-in cup holders that can double as a stand for phones and tablets.

  • Wife mentioned the other day we need one of these, anyone with one confirm they’re the best??

    • I bought my dad the one with the solid sides. He swears by them. So much so that I'm looking at getting one too.

      • Which one is this?

    • Went to a Christmas outing on the weekend - half the dad's seem to be pulling one of these. Must have been an ALDI special item?

I've got one of these at work and I was very impressed by it at first, except the front wheels seem to have flogged out the holes they ride in already, meaning that when you pull it along straight the wheels rapidly flail from side to side (like when you get a bad shopping trolley). I really haven't even used it that hard, and certainly don't carry near 68kg in it most of the time.
I've been meaning to take it back and swap it out for a new one, but hoping this isn't a design flaw which happens again.

We've been through dozens of trolleys at work, many different brands, and ALL of them have one particular bit which breaks and accounts for the majority of them breaking.

Can you ever fix the 'bad shopping trolley' wheel of death?
I have it on my pram and can't figure it out.

      • Who's pushing you in your pram?
        :)

  • Tempting…

  • Do you think this one better for cheaper price and almost double capacity 120kg and cheaper only $89 https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/kings-beach-camping-folding…

Havent read good reviews for the kings one, and apparently their customer service for returns isnt the best

    • $89 + shipping………. shipping is often the killer for some of the Kings stuff.

None of these are great on sand, particuarly if you load it up with some weight.

For picnics, non beach related tasks, I haven't really noticed too much between the models, as mentioned above, they are fairly disposable after a a couple of years use - depends on your value for money proposition I guess. A decent beach model is ~$350-$700 range.

    • Yea, dragging a full load on uphill dunes is the worst.

    Terrible wheels for soft sand.

    • +1 for this.
I guess Macpac one is the best out of all for now.
It was doing $129.99 around black friday.

They all are. Unless you grab one of the few that have massive spherical wheels.

Way I look at it is they will spend 95% not on soft sand. And if going to the beach, getting the kids to carry their own shit for the last 50 metres isn't a problem. Whereas massive sand wheels would be a real pain 95% of the time.

I got one like this last summer and quickly realised one poor sucker ends up carting around the whole families crap, plus a couple of small children.

I am in Canberra and chose click and collect. I got an email immediately from the store saying they will be closed for Xmas and I cannot pick up the item until mid January. Hopefully my message helps someone else.

  • For beach trips I prefer ones with wider wheels, like the ones in kmart. This one would struggle in loose sand I think

The cool kids are all rocking electric ones now

I've had the Tahwahli one from Bcf for a while. Been great. On sale atm too.

We've got a crappy grey and black one from anaconda, or bigw or Kmart… Can't remember, it was approx $59 on sale. We just moved house with it to haul things from a van, down a large ramp in a car park, into a lift and up into the apartment. Loaded it with all types of things like heavy ikea flat packs and umbrella bases and it hasn't been damaged or missed a beat. We've also taken it on picnics with an esky and food in it. In our case I'm glad we got the cheap one, it's been great.

  • Trust Bunnings to have dropped the price so that you can't price beat

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=Gorilla…

  • I've got the Saxon one from bunnings with the liner. Still going strong 2yrs on. Bigger wheels, drop down or removable sides. Load it up with logs round the property and nothing seems to phase it.

  • Probably fine for anything other than going on sand. Look for one with wider wheels or will be dragging a sled down to the beach.

  • I wish one of the companies make these with replaceable wheels so you can use bulky wheels for sand the thin ones for all the rest. Is there any like that at a reasonable price (<$200)?

  • 100 bucks at bunnings - is there stock? - bunnings stock checker - https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0360266

  • Love seeing these pieces of junk abandoned in the scrub near the beach. It's so common now that I don't even notice them anymore.
