I just bought the passport holder from DJ for over $100 ☹️

Great deal. I’ve been using Bellroy products for 10+ years now and they’ve all been excellent. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

    • +1

Second this. I now have too many bags but one for each occasion

  • Was hoping for a passport holder

    • yer, unfortunately its not big enough for a passport, I checked the last time the deal came up.
Still a good gift for a partner.

      • interesting it has a spot for a smartphone but not a passport. I get the girth issue but still.

      • +1

Afaik standard dimension for a passport, size B7 is 125mm x 88mm. It should fit right into the 'smartphone' slot.

Not sure why you would put your mobile phone in the folio though. Not a sensible design choice, doesn't feel like they made this one with actual users in mind.

Pretty sure this is a purse?

    • +33

      It's not a purse! It's European!

      • +1

but the pictures show US money

    • +8

It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

      • +5

Indiana Jones absolutely does not wear this type of purse

        • +2

I'm sure there is some future plan to make an Indy movie where he is played by some young actor who carries a manpurse.

      • I think you're misinterpreting
        "Cute wallet Cupcake"

  • +4

    That purse is too big

Not even George Costanza can fit that in his pocket….

  • +4

I don't get the utility of this at all. Do you keep it in you handbag? It's too large for a pocket and who needs a wallet when you can have your liscence and all cards on your phone anyway?

    • +2

Very much one that you'd keep in a bag.

I barely use a wallet now - pretty much everything is on my phone. It's still useful to have physical cards for backup or when travelling.

That said, even my standard wallet was left in my bag most of the time I was overseas.

    • Yeah it's kind of useless as an EDC. You are expected to keep this in your bag, but at that point it's impractical as the purpose of a wallet is something to have close by all the time that you can easily flick out to make purchases or show ID.

      • No one said edc. Qantas only collab on the travel wallets.

      • you can add chain and… nevermind

  • Bellroy produces quality leather products, won't get it as its a collab with Qantas.

  • +1

Had to think about a use case for this wallet then it hit me, i can leave my daily wallet at home when i travel and take this Bellroy Note sleeve instead, since I always have to modify the cards i take when i go overseas! it being leather is also great, real leather wallets just last forever, my current daily one feels brand new and its been half a decade, albeit its Gucci and not Bellroy, Id wager Bellroy will do just fine.

Actually incredible value with points club, got it for 9,918 PTS delivered, cheers OP.

    • Actually incredible value with points club, got it for 9,918 PTS delivered, cheers OP.

I have Points Club but still 10,440 points.

      • @rokufan i still get 5% off Points Club appearing by simulating another purchase. Unsure why yours isnt reflecting.

Maybe check your portal to see if your Points Club hasnt lapsed, my Points Club doesnt expire until Oct 2025 upon checking. Otherwise you should raise a ticket/call support, reference my picture above

    • I just use an old wallet as my travel wallet. If I really have to have my passport on me, it just goes in a front pocket. But if you got a family, these passport wallets are a no brainier. You're taking the kitchen sink anyway so you may as well.

      • My old wallets are falling apart and too bulky (for my taste) for travel, they made them fat back then, able to store 20-30 cards, cash and coins you name it. This note sleeve is thin, minimalistic, and perfect for my travel needs, i only carry 2-3 cards max overseas, plus maybe some sim swap items

This one will become the old slim travel wallet after awhile, given it stands the test of time

Better off paying the discounted price of $79 and get 237 points.

    Delivery included as well, bargain.

Personally I prefer the Qantas collab version, prefer the placement of the bellroy owl in the middle rather than corner.

    • Any chance you can explain the point maths for me?

      • +2

Calc the $ or cents value of your preferred use when redeeming the points. Methods wrt flights vary by person - most common you'll find are value of fare redeemed, or value of the fare otherwise incurred (ie I flew business but would only have cash paid for economy). Buying products it depends - do you need / want it, how much can you buy it cash / card; rarely are using pts on products the best value but that is not the only decision factor for ppl.

Generally, seek to use your points for the highest value. Book an International Business or First is typically 5-8+ cents per pt, eg AU to USA, providing you can book the flight. Domestic East-West business reward flight also good (maybe 2.5 - 3ish c/pt). Buying this wallet or folio is about 0.5-0.8c/pt.

Maybe is also worth considering your cost to acquire the points. Some folks don't fly much, or they may have millions in points and accumulate faster than spend, so a purchase of marketplace suits their interests and situation.

  • Got the wallet (cash + points), thanks

    A Xmas present for myself.

  • I've had the note sleeve since 2016 and it's worn in pretty well, no complaints at all here

  • +2

Nifty things, but will always be a purse to me. A wallet it aint.

    • Some say it’s a female wallet. All drama-tic inside.

  • +2

Cracker deal for a quality product. Nice post OP.

However, disappointed that it can't hold a passport, dannng

    • +1

I think it can fit in the phone slot, based on my Quick Look in store (milligram) and the comment above.

Bought one to test anyways - free returns if it doesn’t fit.

  • For the people that don't get the use of this - if you are in the habit of travelling a lot ten years ago then it was nice to carry a few key things together inside your carry on, like your passport…oh.

    • i carry more stuff now than i did 10 yrs ago

  • Does anyone have any thoughts on the note sleeve as an everyday wallet? Currently using a very slim 6-card holder; how does this one compare in terms of thickness etc.?

    • The Note Sleeve isn't really a thick wallet, but I would think it'll still be thicker than a slim card holder.

  • note sleeve oos

Just got a notification from AusPost for the Note Sleeve, seems like this one will be a quick delivery
