  • How many packs? As can get this for $6.3 per blister at Big W.

    • I believe 6 packs… So a tad more expensive.

Also no bigW has stock for me

    • How do you get it that cheap? That's a great price

      • They are $7 there. User must have 10% off via everyday rewards extra or similar.

    • Buy limit of 2.

      • And $4 postage too. Buy limit of 1 for click and collect

Not in store, I just bought 10 the other day but I think I must have caught a restock without realising it.

Pokemon card prices are getting nuts and people keep paying them……

    • Prismatic Evolutions with completely sold out pre-orders, distributors not giving stores even 10% of their allocations unless they buy unpopular product, and way more drama within that space.

Just be patient and buy booster boxes when they restock next year lads. Absolutely no reason to buy a VERY NEW set with elevated prices. Man this hobby just gets worse each time.

No ones gonna care about this set anymore when they release eevee crack set and team rocket next year.

Been playing competitive Pokemon TCG in tournaments and collecting since 2008… and I've never seen the collectors market in such a sorry state. All the NFT bros have come to Pokemon & One Piece and it's so detrimental. Only plus side is my old cards are worth an absolute tonne, but I'd love for the cards to just be available and fun for all instead of some profiteering scheme.

      • People treating pokemon cards as an investment which it's absolutely not especially in the bubble it's in right now. With the economy being garbage and prices of everything through the roof I don't see why people are spending so much on cards right now when it's not going to maintain for much longer. The people hoarding sealed product just to resell are going to get a very bad shock when prices start to drop because no one is buying. Youtube is feeding these people as well, you'll see videos left right and centre all telling people to buy buy buy, just like crypto scam.

treating pokemon cards as an investment
          just like crypto scam.

Yeah you should head over to r/PokeInvesting and see the absolute cope that happens over there.

That's all this is. Speculators pumping prices through YouTube and Tiktok content to get people to buy $300+ booster boxes so they can profit. The recent reprint of 151 is a great example of how toxic this hobby has become. People need to look at MTG when considering what a stable trading card market looks like, with PLAYABLE cards being the valuable ones and less speculative scammy financial decisions in the space. WOTC aren't saints, neither are cfb/big vendors in that space either, but the way that game operates is a helluva lot better than what we have here.

          • @beyonddd: I find it disturbing that the "valuable" cards from pokemon sets tend to be trainer cards depicting young females and children…..

          • +1

@beyonddd: I think based on the price trends, there is definitely some 'investing' that you can do. But you are getting returns when they go out of print, so we are talking many years. But in r/Pokeinvesting somehow this translates to hoarding stocks of limited items and proudly posting it on there. It's basically just long-term scalping but they are always so mad when we call them scalpers like nuh uh we are different.

That being said, I think most of the blame also lies on whoever is buying these items at scalpy prices. The reason they're still around is because people do actually buy them.

        • +1

You are mixing up investors with flippers or scalpers - investors are in it for the long haul (5,10,15 years) and bubbles like this don't really matter to them.

          • +1

@Size9ed: investors and scalpers are the same thing. The goal is to buy and resell for higher prices.

people pretending to be investors are just doing it to feel better about being scalpers. If you want to invest money there's actual ways to do it that don't include buying out all the stock of a childs card game.

There is no investing in sealed products anymore, everything is overproduced and hoarded by masses whereas the original pokemon booster boxes no on expected them to be as popular so barely anyone bought and held onto them at the time. It's all a fake bubble where the demand is not from people wanting to open the product its from people wanting to buy it and re-sell it, it's not sustainable.

            • @Purp: So then how much for a 151 booster bundle in the year 2028?

              • @luke420: depends how much it gets reprinted over the next year

  • I would avoid Amazon UK, I purcahsed this exact product from Amazon UK and they were fine but have had other products be resealed, often there was little attempt to hide it.

I bought several of those. No good pulls at all. Same with almost all products I got from Amazon UK.
The Australian six packs (they are wider, more like a square) I got from Target were full of good pulls.

    • +2

      Isn’t that just luck?

    • +2

      It's random

    • Are you familiar with what a booster pack is?

      • Yes but I opened so many that I can tell that different products have different pull rates for the same booster packs.
There are products where I consistently get good pulls and products where I consistently get bad pulls. Even though it’s the same booster pack.

Sure you can believe that they all have the same probability but that’s just not true.

  • Guys -

    $7 at Kmart/Big W.

At Big W, use your 10% off which brings it to $6.30. Way better than going through Amazon UK. Those who say no stock - just keep monitoring. Bought 10 booster packs yesterday from Mt Gravatt Big W in Brisbane. They had about another 150-200 sitting there.

    Goodluck!

  • JBHIFI perks voucher, 2 packs for $3

    • Can't use perks voucher for trading cards

      • You can, I bought some pencil tins not long ago

  • ETBs in stock @ Kmart
