Received a flyer in my letterbox on Monday morning coming from them. Found some pretty good bargains, especially the tuna and ordered a delivery on Monday night. Was quite surprised to see the goods to be delivered at my door the next day. Very fast and convenient.

        Serious question, http://www.tuna.com.au/, http://www.greenpeace.org/australia/en/what-we-do/oceans/Takā€¦

Sole Mare is the least transparent tuna brand trading in Australia. Its entire product line is based on overfished yellowfin tuna. Sole Mare needs to switch to a more sustainable species like skipjack tuna, drop destructive fishing methods and provide its customers with a reasonable amount of information. Sole Mare is repetitively disappointing.

skipjack tuna is disgusting though. if you're going to opt for skipjack you may as well not bother. save the lives of a few poor little fishies.

        • Or Albacore

    • Agree, any that isn't is no-deal for me, no matter how cheap.

But its endangered yellowfin tuna caught with methods that rape the ocean n therefore it is effectively a massive CLEARANCE SALE!
BARGAIN! GET YOUR OVERFISHED TUNA! STOCKS WILL NOT LAST! MAKE SURE YOUR CHILDREN HAVE NO CHANCE TO ENJOY THEM, LET ALONE THE TUNA ENJOYING LIFE BEYOND THIS SALE SALE SALE!

        • You can't believe everything you read, especially if it is written by Greenpeace! Do some real research and you'll find that yellowfin tuna is generally caught as a by-catch of fishing for skipjack and other tunas. Unsustainable tuna fishing methods are driven firstly by demand for tuna, not demand for a particular species. …so if you decide not to buy yellowfin, then what? they should throw the dead tuna back into the ocean instead of using it? The fact is that tuna stocks around the world are decreasing, and if you look at the numbers it is actually skipjack that is being overfished now and the relative proportion of catch that is yellowfin is increasing again. That suits me fine, because skipjack tastes like sawdust and I'm happy to eat some juicy yellowfin.

  • Hmmmm… just clicked the link and this is for the canned "paella" and not tuna. The 185g tuna is $2.49. An alright price I guess, but not really a massive bargain by any means.
