Samsung Fridge Delivery & Installation Experience

Hello all, I’m considering ordering a fridge from Samsung website directly, but I have a narrow entryway with limited clearance.

For those who have ordered large appliances from Samsung.com:

  1. Delivery Assistance: Did the delivery driver help place the appliance inside your home, or was it left outside?

  2. Installation Services: Does Samsung offer installation services for fridges? I couldn’t find an option for this during the checkout process.

I’d appreciate any insights based on your experience.

Thank you!

https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/article/appliancesonline… will deliver and install and remove your old appliance…

    Ask them to Price Match.

This. Samsung's customer care and service for items purchased directly from them has been abysmal. AppliancesOnline has always been excellent.

Also, i personally would never recommend a Samsung home appliance product.

Had only good experiences with Appliance Online from purchase to installation..

I recommend seeking another brand for a fridge if you want it to last a decent while.

  • Might need to take the doors off to fit through.

  • but I have a narrow entryway with limited clearance

Even if you pay for delivery, if the fridge won't fit through the doorway, then it won't fit. They won't be able to magically make it fit, and will leave it outside for you to deal with.

    So measure up.

    • and allow for clearance space at top, bottom and sides and rear as per the Manuf. Guide. :+)

  • Have you bothered to measure the fridge and compared it with the "narrow entryway"

    • I checked and it seems I might be able to fit the fridge through my garage entry door. The package box depth is 776mm, while my garage door entrance measures 795mm, providing just enough clearance. In the worst-case scenario, I could unpack the fridge in the garage, as its depth is 723mm, which would give more room to maneuver.

  • What's the fridge - I received a boxed Samsung fridge yesterday and can measure the box for you if you want

      • Basically same as mine 648L (mine was in plumbed though). I'll measure my door and box

        • Thank you

        • Did you order directly from Samsung? If so, did the courier company help bring the item inside the house?"

          • @rick859: I ordered off the Samsung Outlet on ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/str/samsungaustralia and received a normal Samsung order tracking number etc so, it's probably the same?

The courier company was ANC and yes they delivered next to my kitchen but didnt unbox or anything.

Note I do have my own trolley which I think I will need to maneuver the fridge around to the right spot

            • @isthisreallife22: yes it will be the same. Hopefully they can help me to leave it in the kitchen

              • @rick859: I havent had a chance to go measure up just yet, but while we're interacting, it only just squeezed through the door and had to come in dead straight, if any corner was off square it didnt come through, and they had to force squeeze the box through the door (not too hard, just a bit). So if the edge of your open door obstructs the entry way that could be an issue.

I also had to take off a door handle in my hallway between the front door and kitchen.

                • @isthisreallife22: Dimensions:

                  Box - shortest edge (depth) - 775mm
Door width (when closed - just edge door to door) 818mm
Door opening (when opened as far as mine could do) - about 771mm

So they had to "squeeze" through about 4mm of cardboard

                • @isthisreallife22: thanks, I think mine will also be just touch and go. When you get time please do send me the measurements of your door that would really help

  • i heard they cut your tv screen too while your turning off the power at the mains

  • I bought french door fridge (hopefully correct term) with $50 delivery fee from goodguys. It didn't fit my door thus why it gets returned back. I lost that $50. Order different model with large single door with same $50 fee, they bring in to the fridge space. They also offered to bring the old one, but wife decided to keep.

    • I was thinking of doing the same with good guys but was getting the same fridge $1k cheaper buying directly from samsung government portal

      • Mine was cheaper at that time, it was boxing day deal.

  • I bought a fridge directly from Samsung during their Black Friday sales and it would delivered yesterday. I'll never buy directly from them again. I needed to change the delivery date (weeks in advance) and it took a good 5 hours on live chat / the phone to organise. The date was then changed randomly by Samsung. The fridge arrived yesterday. We payed the extra for installation. 2 hours after delivery we tried the water dispenser, only to discover a ruptured pipe / hose at the bottom of the fridge. Water floods the kitchen floor, despite the fridge having been installed correctly. After 1 hour on the phone to numerous departments of Samsung, we've been told to wait 48 hours for them to contact us re how they wish to proceed. They have not agreed to replace or repair and they seem to be pointing blame at the courier. This is our second Samsung fridge - the first has been great. I'll definitely be buying from a third party seller (Appliances Online, JB etc again) if I ever buy another Samsung product!!!

  • I got a fridge delivered from samsung edu portal, the guys were quite nice. They brought it in through my back door and put it where I want. I didnt get installation though, what is there to install? Plugging it in?

  • Remember you can remove doors to fit fridges through narrow doorways. I had to do this to get ours into our walk in pantry - its quite a narrow walkway in.

Not hard to do - just take note of what comes off and keep all screws/parts together so when it comes time to re-assemble in its final space, its as easy as can be.

With that said, I hope never to have to remove them again. Its a PITA and I would avoid it if you can, but if no other option - then its very possible to do.
